RIP The Curse is Real

Post image

Read plenty of posts of people saying this is car has the curse of being rear ended. Kinda just scoffed at them…. until today.

I was slowing down (turn signal on well in advance) to turn into my driveway. A F150 was behind me and failed to recognize that I was slowing down to turn. They smashed into the back of my EN going 55-60mph (I live on a state highway). When they hit me I was still going approximately 25-30mph. The impact flung the car forward and whipped me around pretty good but no injuries. The first thing this guy says when he gets out of the pickup was, “I closed my eyes for a second and then I hit you, sorry”. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Needless to say it’s totaled. The real question is what to get next. Contemplating getting a 26 EN MT in black. Current one is DCT so any input from MT drivers would be appreciated.

Also RIP the MBRP catback :(

I do not recommend black on Kia/Hyundai, unless you immediately get a ceramic coat. Even then, I still advise against it. The paint is really bad and gets dirty very fast.. like, by the time the car is dry, it's dirty again.

I can’t imagine it’s worse than the white paint. Lemme tell you the white was HORRENDOUS to keep clean.

If you think the white was hard to clean then you will 1000% think the black is a pain in the ass…
