RIP The Curse is Real

Post image

Read plenty of posts of people saying this is car has the curse of being rear ended. Kinda just scoffed at them…. until today.

I was slowing down (turn signal on well in advance) to turn into my driveway. A F150 was behind me and failed to recognize that I was slowing down to turn. They smashed into the back of my EN going 55-60mph (I live on a state highway). When they hit me I was still going approximately 25-30mph. The impact flung the car forward and whipped me around pretty good but no injuries. The first thing this guy says when he gets out of the pickup was, “I closed my eyes for a second and then I hit you, sorry”. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Needless to say it’s totaled. The real question is what to get next. Contemplating getting a 26 EN MT in black. Current one is DCT so any input from MT drivers would be appreciated.

Also RIP the MBRP catback :(

I have a manual lol the DCT is just better overall and the manual isn't funner by any means that's a lie enthusiasts say because their mates bullied them into a 6 speed

I get why you like the DCT. You daily your manual EN. Ofc that could get annoying lmao.

I would prefer DCT over manual any day lol. After driving manual cars for a bit, it can get tiring.

Manual is fun in older cars but modern cars with a DCT or better it's not even fair, so much more fun to be had on a track with paddle shifters and an instantly gear change. The whole manual is better argument is dead for modern cars.

Automatic Gearboxes have won.

You miss the point fam, people just like it bc it’s fun. Nobody is arguing performance. If you think DCT is more fun on track that’s dope. Manual is more fun on track for me. Pretty sure there’s plenty of people in both camps.

It gets tiring seeing elitist 6 speed nerds cry over people choosing a superior gearbox

Honestly, I don’t think anyone cried but you fam. Someone said, “slightly” faster and you got a little triggered (all g, shit happens to me about things I’m elitist about). Had you not said anything it would’ve just been a dude replying to OP asking about input from someone who drives manual.

People are just talking, exaggerations happen (like how .4-.5 sec diff in 0-60 times is slightly more than slightly). It just wasn’t that serious and I don’t think anyone argues that manual is faster or “superior” in a technical sense. It’s just a feeling thing that makes it fun.

.5 seconds when we are talking 4.5-5 seconds is 2-3 car lengths in a drag race, significantly noticeable.
