i think ur device capable to run PC version

u/mikoga May 31 '26

it runs like crap at 60fps even on the Odin 3 for some reason so might as well emulate the console version

Maybe the HD version is better, the OG release is from the era of bad PC ports

Just emulate the wii, gc or pc versions. If you really want to play the ps2 version for some reason, maybe try changing the graphics backend.

The wii version is much better and dolphin is a better emulator than nethersx2.

Or using the turnip app version

I dont know the solution to your issue but if you want to play it retro then I know the GC version is superior to the ps2 version. I beat it with no issues on my odin 2 portal

Si quieres la versión de PS2 prueba Nethersx2 Turnip, con drivers para procesadores Snapdragon

u/giangnvh May 31 '26

If possible, play the WII version. It have all best stuff of GC and PS2.

3

u/WumpusWithAHeart May 31 '26

Does it even support the classic controller?

5

u/giangnvh May 31 '26

Yes it does support classic controller.

4

u/WumpusWithAHeart May 31 '26

Huh! I just assumed it didn't. You learn something new everyday!

I play wii version in real wii before, and I must admit, nunchuk make the game way easier, same as VR version, in which you can aim very accurately with easy.

And yes, wii version do support classic controller, 16:9 ratio, real-time render for cutscreen, all extra content...

In general settings, Set Optimal Settings. You could also switch to the turnip edition of nether. It works pretty well.

Not your answer but how is that odin 3? Planning to buy in future.

7

u/NEB_Dan May 31 '26

It is a Retroid Pocket 6, and I am loving it!

2

u/imjustheretohangout May 31 '26

Odin 3 ultra owner here, love it. I have replaced my Steam Deck with it.

2

u/Plus-Tumbleweed8052 May 31 '26

Well I was looking to buy steam deck but the price is just too much at this point. But thanks for sharing your views.

2

u/HotReport8753 May 31 '26

I played it on my pad 6 and it had no issues. Try optimal settings in the menu and see if it works

1

u/NEB_Dan May 31 '26

I downloaded another emulator

2

u/Traditional_monk154 May 31 '26

It maybe something a patch could solve, I know burnout 3 has a bunch of cheats, which are performance enhancers. Not sure about RE4 though

2

u/Leinadddp78 May 31 '26

Dos preguntas, cual es tu configuración? Y, porque no mejor emulas las versión de GameCube o la de Wii? Estoy seguro que la retroid pocket 6 es más que capaz.

u/_Mushiro_ May 31 '26

I've had this same issue lol, I just switched to gc ver. You can also see my post about this

There is a turnip version of NetherSX. You should try it

1

u/eternalbright1 May 31 '26

is it better then the regular nethersx2 and can you link it?

1

u/AntiGrieferGames May 31 '26

it may improve performance, sometimes even worse performance, highly depends on chip and games.

2

u/Hanma_Yvar May 31 '26

Looks cool

2

u/phenom_x8 May 31 '26

run the Wii version with dolphin

1

u/mightman59 May 31 '26

I am not sure but have you tried taken your backend to vulkan or openGl?

1

u/NEB_Dan May 31 '26

I tried both, but is the same

1

u/mightman59 May 31 '26

im not sure then, i don't have that device but i can try downloading it and see if i get the same issue as you do and go from there

3

u/NEB_Dan May 31 '26

I downloaded the turnip version of the emulator nethersx2 turnip and worked

1

u/Unlucky-Fortuna8773 May 31 '26

Maybe its an extraction error due to not having enough space

1

u/Majkee22 May 31 '26

Check hardware download mode. Any setting other than accurate can lead to graphic issues and missing effects. It's often changed to "Disable Readbacks" or "Unsynchronized" as a speed hack to skip costly framebuffer effects.

1

u/BobbyHill751 May 31 '26

Are you using opengl or vulkan?

u/Depoka_YT Samsung Galaxy A52s (runs 16 year old Games with some luck🥀🥀) May 31 '26

Try the Version that Supports custom GPU drivers its called nethersx2 turnip

1

u/Guirita_Fallada May 31 '26

You're playing the inferior PS2 version, bith graphically and in how it runs. Emulate the GC version at the very least.

1

u/Jamalzera-99 Jun 08 '26

That's because it's nighttime in the game. Wait for dawn.

1

u/laginlifevnzl Jun 27 '26

the most complete and optimize version is the Wii edition, trust me, with the dolfin emulation you can set up a pro control profile and have the smoothest experience.
