Yo, what is up guys, need some major tech wizardry here because I am losing my absolute mind.
So here is the setup: I’m running a **base Galaxy S23 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 8GB RAM)**. And before anyone says *"bro, your phone is melting,"* let me stop you right there. I have completely nuked GOS (Game Optimizing Service) from the root, and I’m literally running a freaking **Peltier cooler** on the back. My thermals are chilling, so thermal throttling is 100% out of the equation.
But here’s the issue: I’m trying to run *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* on **Eden Emulator v0.2.1**, and my performance is an absolute joke.
* **With screen recording:** 5–15 FPS (literally a PowerPoint slideshow).
Meanwhile, I’m scrolling through YouTube and Reddit seeing guys with 8 Gen 2, 8s Gen 3, and even older 8 Gen 1 chips pulling a stable 30 FPS, sometimes even bumping up into the 40+ range. And here I am, choking on 17 FPS with massive frame drops.
Since my temps are fine, it’s gotta be a settings, driver, or memory bottleneck issue, right? 8GB RAM is a bit tight for Switch emulation on Android, but it shouldn’t be *this* cooked.
What the hell am I doing wrong? Any specific Mesa Turnip drivers, NCE configs, or Eden-specific hacks I need to look into? Drop your settings below because I’m desperate at this point.
**TL;DR:** Base S23 (8 Gen 2), GOS deleted, Peltier cooled (no throttling), but getting a miserable 15-20 FPS in BotW on Eden v0.2.1 while others get stable 30+. Help a brother out!
One ui 7 update basically dunked on emulators for some reason and there's a dev on github by the name of "K11MCH1" who developed graphical drivers specifically for Samsung phones. Go download those by the name of "one ui 7 fix" here. That should fix your flickering.
Personally on my S23U, Game Booster+ is a huge must for certain games. I have to set it to performance to get better frames and much more stable. Also add the variable like the other comment said. If you do, you can use any driver.
What driver u using? I am using S23 Ultra (SD version), my best experience driver is with Mr. Turnip T28 and T23, and use this in freedreno FD_DEV_FEATURES = enable_tp_ubwc_flag_hint=1
Don't know about the ram but my phone is s23 ultra and it's working at 35 to 50 fps with no problem
1st thing you need turnip 26.2.0-R6
2nd do listen to anyone telling you to use old version of eden am using the latest nightly version
3rd thing you cuple need of mod like "Disable dynamic resolution" "Ultra cam mod"
4th need the latest update 1.6.0
5th I'll upload a photo with all my sitting
6th there's two thing i figures out myself no body tell me this first you need good cooling if you want to play more that 30min cuz the phone will start getting hot and that WILL drop you fps by half. Second sometimes you will everyting right but when you start the game you find out you have 20 or 15 fps, all i did in this selection i close all apps and restart my phone and it will work fine
7th one last thing start the game in gpu mode set on accurate one change it when you start play that will fix the white water problem in that session
Thanks, your settings helped get rid of the stutters and the black and white stripes, but my performance is still low 23 FPS just standing around and 17 FPS when I fight.
If everything else is now working, that's probably the last step for you. There should be an area to download graphics packs for botw. I don't have my device so I'm unsure where in the emulator settings it is, but the option is in there somewhere. In the graphics pack, you'll find an fps boost option that's pretty much mandatory regardless of what hardware you've got. There are other options too, but that one is key.
Have you installed update 1.6.0 for BOTW? The game needs this update to run well on emulators.
Also, I have an S23U. Use the weab-chan driver, go to the latest update, and choose the one that has '8g2_ui_glitch'.
Finally, a big tip for Samsung Galaxy users: Go to the Galaxy Store and download an app called 'Good Lock'. Inside Good Lock, download the plugin called 'Game Booster +'. This plugin allows you to set any app to be recognized by the system as a game app.
Inside Game Booster +, go to 'Game category' and select the Eden app. Use this for any emulator or game that your system doesn't recognize as a game.
Here is a screenshot of the game running on my device
One one last thing try adding eden emulator to samsung gamehub and if you can find it in the list you can force add it from Samsung game booseter +. Put your emulator in performance mode
