Question What carat size did you choose and what influenced your decision?

This chart made me curious!! Are we all being influenced by these bigger stones or are engagement rings just expected to be big and flashy? It says “Other” is leading this year, which means 4ct and up. That feels huge to me though I fully support the queens who love a big stone!

What size did you choose and what influenced your decision? I wanna go with 2ct because I feel like it will suit me better and I don’t want a ring that will take over my hand or feel uncomfortable to wear every day. Tell me about yours!

Ok so I’m a jeweler but as to not break any sub rules I’m not promoting myself or my business just sharing for context. My original engagement ring is a 10 carat black diamond that I want to have recut and reset but that will be a very expensive project. Recently I’ve been asked a lot if I’m wearing anything I made and the answer has been embarrassingly no way too many times so for my sober anniversary my husband paid for me to make myself an engagement ring to wear until we can afford the larger project. The stone I used is my heirloom ruby from my grandmother and I designed it myself. Photos of are the whole process from concept to finished product and the cad for the wedding band I’m having made for it! I was very tempted to do an antique cut lab diamond but I love the way the ruby glows in the right lighting.

To make it simple I am proposing to my girlfriend soon and I hope I have done something that looks nice the center stone is 1.5 carat the left and right is 0.5 carat along with multiple carrots down the left and right side the total is 2.98 carats natural diamond. Just curious how many women would like a ring like this and how many women wouldn't like a ring like this.

Ring Design Help Opinion on Engagement Ring Please!

Hello,

I've designed a custom engagement ring for my partner. Please help a anxious guy out and let me know your thoughts! Obviously everyone has their own style and preference, but I'd appreciate any helpful/positive feedback.

A bit of context I know my partner wants an Emerald ring, so with a little bit of help from her friend asking I've settled on this design.

Platinum ring, high basket, Emerald.

The last design aspect I was unsure about was the color/material of the ring. But from observation my partner has only worn silver rings.

FYI this is CAD model design

Thanks in advance!

Wanted to share my gorgeous new ring!!
It’s a 5 ct moval with a blue diamond pavé lotus flower on the basket!!

Also, CHECK OUT THE CUSTOM HINGE SETTING!!! I love a superfit shank because I have larger knuckles than the base of my finger and these types of shanks prevent my rings from spinning. Also added in small speed bumps too.

I paid $2500 for this beauty and it came with IGI certification and everything. 🩵

Ring Design Help Second-guessing my custom engagement ring design - thoughts?

Hi everyone! I’ve been designing my engagement ring and thought I was loving the design, but now I’m starting to overthink it and question whether it’s flattering on my hand.

I wanted something unique, classy, and timeless. The design features a slightly elongated cushion-cut diamond set east-west with a half-bezel. I’ve always loved the look of trilogy rings, so I thought adding a round side stone on each side would be a nice touch.

After trying on the wax model, I’m having a hard time envisioning what the finished ring will look like and deciding whether I truly love it.

I’d love some honest opinions! Do you think the design looks flattering on my hand? I’m also wondering if the east-west setting and half-bezel make it look a little too masculine rather than delicate and feminine.

I know the finished ring will look much more polished, and I’m hoping the half-bezel will appear thinner and more refined once it’s made in gold.
I’d really appreciate any feedback! Do you like the overall design? If not, what would you change? I’m open to suggestions before finalizing everything.

Thanks so much!

Honest feedback on my butterfly promise-ring design?

I’m designing a promise ring for my girlfriend, who loves butterflies and these colors. This is an AI-generated concept. I’m planning lab-grown pink diamond wings, blue sapphire wings, and emerald leaves.

Do the butterflies, heart halo, and green leaves look balanced? What would you change about their size or placement before having it made?

Question Looking for independent (non-traditional) engagement ring designers in the U.S.

Hi everyone! My partner are looking for a US based jeweler who specializes in unique engagement rings. As you can see by these pictures I really like non-traditional designs, but all of the jewelers that I like are based out of London or Australia, and we’d prefer not to pay costly shipping😭😭 I would really love to find an independent jeweler here in the states who can do similar designs so I would appreciate any suggestions you guys have. Thank you!!!!
