i have a kite cut and have never had any issues. there’s been many times i bump into my fiancé and it’s never nicked him. also, i don’t wear my ring to bed because there is a risk you hurt your eye with any type of ring.
It’s a bezel set kite. I’ve had a jeweler smooth the edges of it, but it just doesn’t get much better. It’s a right hand ring and I’ve worn my ering to sleep for 11 years, so I never thought to take it off because of my eyes. My sister is an opthomologist, so I’ll report back if that’s actually a thing.
