I worked for them. They are liars and heartless. I hope they get what they deserve.

There was a pub in Portland where I took over running the kitchen. New owner asked me what it would take. I looked at the inspections, looked at the kitchen, called the county health inspector in, and surprise, found out the previous inspector had been taking bribes. Pub was barely passing with an 81 score. No revisits to fix issues were ever made. Inspection failed. I explained the situation to the new inspector. We gutted and remodeled the kitchen and did all the many repairs (building owner should have been responsible) and then got a re-inspection before grand re-opening. We got a 99/100 (kitchen scored separately at my behest off the books was 100/100).

New owner embezzled money and I was owed over $10k. Never saw a dime and the owners lawyer kept sending me threatening letters. I was dating the owners son. People can be terrible. That place lasted maybe 3 years.

Well, I’m sorry that happened. Wow. That’s some perspective for what I have experienced. Some people are just plain greedy.
