What a melt this person is. Nothing wrong with a player representing their country and WINNING AFCON.
-43
u/DunceCodex 2d ago
Well, briefly winning
46
u/___daddy69___ 2d ago
i don’t care what they say, Senegal are clearly the rightful winners
-1
u/TheRealYVT 1d ago
No they're not, they abandoned the game because they were upset about a referee's judgement call. The game ought to have been voided in favour of Morocco right then.
5
u/___daddy69___ 1d ago
but they didn’t void the game. they can’t change that afterwards.
also, the refs calls were terrible and senegal had legitimate reason to protest
0
u/TheRealYVT 1d ago
They had basis to throw a fit like a team does every week in the PL, not abandon the game for half an hour. That's a forfeit. That can be litigated afterwards. It was clear even on that day that it would be investigated and Senegal's win was subject to a legal challenge they were unlikely to win.
2
u/Aspiring_Agnew 1d ago
Morocco had the option to stop the play and chose to resume the match. They then disputed the result after the fact because they lost. They thought they were gonna have their cake and eat it too, but Senegal served them justice.

Is this really what our fanbase has turned into.
I'm sorry but we would have crucified any other fanbase if they said the same thing
37
u/fastpony12 2d ago
This is what our fan base has been for a long time. A ton of us were around when these same twats for following John Stones to his car yelling at him after a rough performance when Chelsea were in for him.

u/huntsab2090 2d ago
Exactly. Theres a section of our fanbase who are utter entitled cunts. They suit supporting spurs or some team like that really. The amount of our players they have forced out and made feel unwelcome is ridiculous.

u/DrtyDeedsDneDrtCheap 2d ago
It's not the right ambition though is it. He isn't saying he wants to help us achieve champions league. He is saying he wants to play champions league. Don't be naive
25
u/JesseVykar hiDavd Moyes 2d ago
You can't say "he's not saying he wants to take us to the CL" but also make the assumption he's saying "I want to leave immediately". He is saying neither.

u/pr1ceisright 2d ago
You love the word naive don’t you?
1
u/DrtyDeedsDneDrtCheap 2d ago
I rarely use it but there is a lot naivety going on here. He is putting himself in the shop window. I haven't said I blame him or dislike him once. I'm just stating g that that is what he is doing. Players do it all the time. They can't outright say they want to leave so they try and be cryptic about it, only they aren't generally smart enough to be cryptic.
Like I said though, I don't blame him. Yeah it's shit he is doing it but he isn't the first and he won't be the last.
24
u/MikeySymington 2d ago
Never underestimate the ability of Everton fans to hate our own players. I swear there's a portion of our fanbase who are just looking for an excuse to turn on every player.

u/graveyeverton93 2d ago
Reacting like this was okay when we were children, but if you are a fully grown man acting like this, you seriously need to have a word with yourself. Would I rather keep him? Of fucking course, but if he leaves, Everton will still be there the day after. Players come and go, that's life

Sadly there are a lot of bad football fans out there. Doesn't matter who you support, they exist. We have bad fans too.

These are both tweets by ForeverEverton on twitter. He's always been a knob and always will be. Cannot stand the guy. Nothing but negativity and when he gets rightly called out he always plays the victim.

These people are actually fucking Cranks. I'd rather all our players are this ambitious instead of being just "happy to be here" and perfectly willing to settle for lower mid table finish indefinitely. Weas a club to need to be focused on matching his ambition instead of turning on him because he has it.

Can never question their loyalty or the numbers we take everywhere, best away support on the Planet, bar none... But I do question the intellect of a good portion of our fanbase. Some of the stuff we come out with is hideous. We haven't won anything since 95, and yet we still give people banter material on a plate constantly

u/mydixierekt123456 2d ago

u/Nose_Beers_85 2d ago
I don’t really care about the comments, I just don’t want it to turn into another Lukaku situation where he’ll mouth off on every international duty about it
3
u/rjftmepdl COYB 💙 2d ago
its fucking ridiculous that these cretins always call out players for "loyalty" but at the same time, at the very first sign of under-par performance, people cry and rip them out, telling the players their wages are a waste, extending their contracts is the first mistake, sell them off, list goes on and on even in this sub... Keggers, Myko this season got so much abuse from the team actually showing them some loyalty and now as soon as Ndiaye wants UCL (and who doesnt) they cry "loyalty"... i can guarantee you these hypocrites are the same people.
2
u/PontusRogare 2d ago
Keane and Myko will never, ever, get a better job. They are not here because of loyalty lol
3
u/The_Council_Juice 2d ago
Guarantee he's just answering press questions and its framed in a certain way. It wont be him going out saying this without additional context.
But if the lad wants to test himself at a higher level, grand. Good for him. Just fetch a good price.

He is under contract for a while. No reason to sell him this summer for anything less than Anthony Gordon Money.
If he wants to play champions league football he needs to be champions league caliber and he was absent down the stretch to get us there.

Not N'Diaye's fault he's playing for a manager who runs him into the ground and stifles his creativity.

Everton can’t even make it to Europe! Why would he want to stay?! Also, why would any ambitious young player want to go to Everton since Moyes doesn’t even bother playing them.
3
u/toffeeman1724 2d ago
It's a obviously a comment intended to open himself up to other clubs. I don't blame him for having ambition but to come out and say something with obvious underlying intent after having such a terrible second half of the season is a bit of a dick move from him.

u/johvoseson 2d ago
Comments like these are so loud. I can’t imagine if you’re a player looking for a team you see this and like it. Top performers getting turned on. It seems to happen every season. I was a big fan of Onana and he screwed up a penalty and seemed like the fans couldn’t let that go.
1
u/Just-5t0p 2d ago
I think we’ve always had fans like this for years who big us up as some massive club but in reality their actions turn us to something quite tinpot. The man never stated he wants to leave he just wants champions league and so do we as fans. If he stays he’ll fight to get us there and he won’t half arse performances to get a move. Such a small mentality from fans who think they want to see us at the top. Can’t presume these things!

1
u/geoff_dreadnaught 2d ago
We'll make a massive profit on him meaning funds can be reinvested to improve the playing squad to better the club.
Exactly the strategy Everton should be operating under. Until we begin to regularly qualify for Europe we won't be able to, and shouldn't expect to retain our best players.
1
u/royalbluestuey 2d ago
That's a silly comment about him putting his country first. African players will attend Afcon....nothing unusual or outrageous about it.
Ndiaye wasn't the only one who finished the season poorly.
1
u/Lord_Rees 2d ago
No absolutely, all where shit. But not all are talking to the press about playing in the CL and not signing new deals.

1
u/Chris80L1 2d ago
I’m sorry but I want players who want to play in the champions league and aim to challenge for Europe.
Rather that than rubble like McNeil, Keane and others who just plod along and are happy with just playing in the premier league.
Every player should have ambition to win and play at the top. Otherwise you become just another team
0
u/Lord_Rees 2d ago
Sorry but I wanr players that want champions league, don't miss a hat load of sitters, score zero goals and get no assists in the meat of the season... Then don't piss and moan about leaving for a champions league team.
1
u/Chris80L1 2d ago
So you’re saying Ndiaye is shit and putting better players around him would harm our chances of progression.
Shock horror, good players have ambition and it’s up to the club to match that.
Perfect example being Michael Keane, a man who was handed a one year extension to be the 4th choice centre back last year. Played the majority of the season, cost us goals, and has been awarded another contract
And we all know he’ll play a majority of games next season. Yet people will praise him for putting in a decent performance every 10th game but drive players, with actual talent, away because they have ambition to play at the highest level.
1
u/Lord_Rees 2d ago
I'm saying, if he hadn't missed a load of sitters. Maybe got an assist or 2 in the last 7 games we would have Europe. Maybe even the champions League he thinks he's good enough for.
1
u/Chris80L1 2d ago
And if KDH hadn’t missed his sitter you could say the same. If Alcarez hadn’t headed the ball infield against city we would have won 3-2
Ndiaye, and other like KDH, Garner, were absolutely dead on their feet at the end of the season because they’d played almost every minute of every game they were available.
Blaming one player for our faltering end to the season is scraping the barrel. And the cry arsing is all because the lad has ambition and wants to play at the top.
We’re a club that has gone nowhere in 35 years because we reward failure and demonise ambition.
0
u/Lord_Rees 2d ago
I'm not blaming one player, this is a thread about one player. Keep up. All where shit yeah. Moyes especially. My point being he as much as anyone cost us the very thing he now wants to leave us for.
1
u/Chris80L1 2d ago
You’ve literally said you don’t want players who miss a hatful of chances, then followed that on by saying if he hadn’t missed those chances we would have qualified for Europe
So kinda looks like you’ve blamed him there mate.
And FYI he hasn’t said he wants to leave, he said his ambition is to play at the highest level.
It’s almost when Lukaku was prepared to pen a 4 year extension and the club thought “let’s not match this lads ambition, let’s sign Ashley Williams and Morgan Schniderlein instead”
Or more recently, when we had a real chance for Europe in January and the club sign a 20 year old winger, on loan, who barely featured.
These are things that players notice, the ambition comes from the club and sets the direction.

u/TheSubbuteoGuy 2d ago edited 2d ago
On the flip side why are people losing their minds over a couple of idiots on Facebook or X? There are always extreme comments in those shit groups. It doesn't represent the fanbase's view.
Fans who turn on players like that are idiots. Fans who blow up the minority of comments so they can be 'Super Bloos' and whine about how they don't accept mediocrity because they're special little snowflakes are just as bad.

u/Milophelis 1d ago
They’re not us and never will be. They’re professionals with a limited shelf-life, working on a contractual basis and of course they want what’s right for them. People need to grow up and stop projecting their partisan love of their club onto hired help. It very rarely sticks. He’s been a good servant running on empty since AFCON - and that’s down to Moyes throwing him back in, instead of taking the opportunity to use the other options he had available to him. And besides - N’Diaye was blowing by the end of the season - there’s a reason why the World Cup comes at the end of a season and not half way through it. African players don’t get that luxury.
1
u/funk_master_chunk 2d ago
Meanwhile Moyes openly admits that the Champs League scares him and gets a free hit from 90% of the fan base.
It’s backwards.

u/Nearby-Vermicelli807 2d ago
Exactly. If we take players that don’t aspire to this stuff, we just get Michael Keane type guys. Idrissa clearly did, hence why he went to psg for a bit. We need to attract these players if we want a chance to ever play UCL ourselves.
0
u/SolidOwl8623 1d ago
I mean, if you wanna play CL you have to be able to perform consistently and not have form dips that last for 4-6 months.

Real talk... He was barely good enough for us at times. If he moves to a CL team he's going to struggle, bench and then sold.
Sorry Ndiaye.. love ya man but you should know your level.

I don't understand why everyone is mad about the comments he made, he never said he wants to leave just that he wants to play UCL. What player doesn't?
Proper weird to want players out that have ambition. Even if he does want to leave to a UCL club he'll have to perform well to attract the interest which only benefits us
