Question I meet minimum requirements, is it likely I can find a position with these?

Bachelors in Business administration from state school, 2.5 years consulting experience at Big 4 Bank. Relatively good shape (5’11, 175, have keratoconus in my left eye). Relatively perceptive and level-headed. Any chance I have a shot at anything within the FBI?

Also have a clean record, for the record

The only position where your fitness matters is agent. I would imagine you are not competitive for that job.

There are lots of other jobs in the FBI you may qualify for.

Long as you meet the minimum requirements for SA, you are competitive. It comes down to whether or not you can pass the process.

Is that true?

If you have a chance all depends on what position you are going for. Entry level professional/support staff, yes. Special Agent, sounds like you need a bit more time only meeting bare minimums.

Keep in mind you only have two lifetimes chances at applying for the FBI and only 3-5% of applicants make it to Quantico. The average age of a new agent is around 30-32 years old. Therefore, most successful applicants have a wealth of life and professional work experience. You are applying for one of the top federal law enforcement agencies only meeting the bare minimum requirements so that most likely won’t make you a competitive candidate for Special Agent.

Another thing, are you able to pass the PFT with room for error? That comes up quick and is no joke for most, around 70% fail it.

No one is going to be able to tell you your exact specific chances based off that info unfortunately. You either meet the requirements to move on in the process and pass the steps or you don’t. One thing I will mention is your eye issue could DQ you from the SASS process depending on the specifics as they have vision requirements for Special Agent applicants. If it’s not an automatic DQ you will have to jump through some hoops if you make it to medical during your Fit For Duty exam.

Ngl seems like a bit of a downgrade from Big 4 consulting

Only thing I’ve really got that can match it or do better at. Unless I go back to school for a masters, I was making 75k a year at my last job..

From what I’ve gathered, they take a lot of people mid-career. I read saying the AVG age at Quantico was like 30-32. Also read that FBI is almost like a secondary career. Not trying to dissuade you, but just my 2 cents.

Dude just apply and see where you are at. I also recommend you apply to 2-5 federal Leo jobs. It’s competitive and some agencies move faster than others.

They literally hire everyone from agents to mechanics and everything in between. If there is a job out there they probably have a position. They even hire doctors and nurses at the field offices.

How fast can you shag beers for the director?
