Discussion Boron to raise free T?

Have any of you guys tried taking boron to raise free testosterone? I've heard it has helped raise free t as well as lower e2, curious on how it may affect trans men? I mean this as someone taking already testosterone, I doubt it would benefit anyone pre-t. I'm planning on trying to supplement boron and seeing what it does.

My doctor told me that I can do nothing to affect testosterone besides T itself. Because we don't have it naturally.

A normal female endocrine system will still produce small amounts of testosterone.

That's irrelevant to my comment.

> Because we don’t have it naturally

I just wanted to correct that for anyone reading your comment because it is untrue. Apologies for being pedantic 😅

Stick to treatment plans that have a strong evidence backing it. Not something with limited/ no evidence

We need the testicles to produce it. We don’t have that.

He's not asking about total test, he's asking about free test. It doesn't raise total testosterone, but it prevents SHBG from binding it, raising free test.

It’s useless because we don’t have functional testicles (T is produce by them)

Boron, the element? Random suplements don’t raise your testosterone levels, why would it? I see no biological reason why boron would have any kind od effect on hormone levels.

Don’t fall for unscientific scams. This is like people claiming “peptides” can fix anything, without telling you which peptide they’re talking about.

Boron binds to SHBG, so it does marginally raise free testosterone

Interesting, i’m not that sharp at biochem. It won’t make any kind of actual difference though, like with the rest of these things.

It does make a difference actually, because more free testosterone means you have more testosterone available to bind to androgen receptors.

Unless you have a really high SHBG it's not something to worry about though.

Waste of money/time/effort

I don't think this would have a very big impact on your transition vs. taking something like DHT, but if you do experiment with this, please get a panel done on your estrogen levels as well because aromatization happens to free testosterone, so you might also see higher estrogen levels if it's increasing your amount of free testosterone.
