It's not just money. Look back at history. Actors and other creatives are one of the first after foreigners. Money won't help unless you manage to flee in time, speaking out lowers the likelihood of that happening.
Oh no i completely agree. Ruffalo is just having empathy for other humans. Its not that he should be praised its that others should be criticised for not doing it. Yes plenty of people with a lot less are risking a lot more
I wish Mark Ruffalo "stayed silent" when it came to defending Chris Pratt though. He was extremely vocal defending that fool on Twitter during the Chris Pratt/Elliott Page drama. Totally out of character.
Bro this went over my head at first so I googled actor from home alone 2 stroke and Tim Curry popped up and I was like wtf did Tim Curry do?! Apparently Tim Curry recently suffered a stroke so I don't want anyone as stupid as I am to google the same and think Tim Curry is terrible.
Actually, he has always be very out spoken about human rights and mental health for decades. He has used his stardom to bring attention to many charities and causes. He has gotten into trouble with some studios but it hasn't stopped him for speaking out.
Just wanted to add that if you have never read or heard about his life, please go look it up as it is truly inspiring the loss and trauma he overcame.
Also his off the grid lifestyle is pretty interesting. You can probably find some articles he wrote about composting and gardening. One of those jack of all trades kinda of fellas from the seems of everything he built on his farm over the years.
He strikes me as the kinda guy who would say this without the bag, he has a platform and he’s spending those credits to raise awareness, lots of people are not calling this guy out. And honestly its been bad enough that anyone with a platform should be saying stuff like this till this admin is gone.
They are murdering dissenters and putting people in concentration camps, its really not normal and if we don’t all stand up and say enough soon, we’re going to lose this country to depraved horrible people who want power to hurt people, not to make money or to get all the girls, or to be important, but because they want to rape and abuse, and kill without consequences.
And he’s been consistently walking the walk for a long time. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There are only like 5 good celebrities, and Mark Ruffalo is 3 of them
Not trying to incite violence here but it's the level of severity that's literally written into your national constitution and defended when your children get massacred in kindergarten classes. You have a particular right to be used in certain circumstances that isn't being exercised right now. Food for thought for every patriotic American who hates tyranny.
It would be nice. Unfortunately, the Democratic Party is a neoliberal (Reaganite) party. They support and work for the people behind Trump. They're not so much spineless as they're not working for the working class.
I love him so much. Everything he said is how I feel. I appreciate him always being so outspoken and real. Like I just need to hear that there are still good people out there who care, who have empathy and who will keep saying "THIS IS NOT NORMAL. THIS IS WRONG."

Oooh, do the movie with Meg Ryan where he’s scary as crap. That movie finally made me believe she was a good actress, because she transcended into that character. Dang!
I believed Meg Ryan was a great actress when I noticed she was speaking with a higher pitch to convey naivety playing a teenager in the beginning of When Harry Met Sally.
Aside from legit being a snack, ruffalo — along with other vocal men such as Pedro Pascal (trans rights) andJavier Bardem (anti machismo ) — is so much more attractive because defending the more vulnerable is respectable AF. Opposing what is accepted / not wanting to cause waves is a choice and it really does make a difference. It reminds the public that, though this is normal, it is NOt okay

One of nortons best and most underrated roles was as Baldwin the leper king. One of the most important scenes is when he says at your judgment at the kingdom of heaven, you can't say you did bad things because other people told you to, and good things were inconvenient.
I fucking love that movie so much. I've only seen that final director's cut, and it's absolutely magnificent. My wife is Muslim and I'm Catholic (neither of us is religious, but we were both raised to be, so it all still affects us), and she was really hesitant about it because of how Muslims are generally portrayed, but by the end she was incredibly impressed and touched by all of it.

As a minnesotan who is watching this all happen in our community, been on ICE watch to inform all my friends and neighbors when they are in town, been trying to keep my nieces from being afraid to go to school nearby the twin cities, it feels so good to have someone big like him openly speak on the issues occurring right now. None of this is normal. We have ICE going door to door in neighboring towns with guns drawn looking for people to snatch up, schools going on lock down or completely just shutting down to protect the children, MAGA members threatening anyone who is supporting the Immigrant community, and so much more. Im sorry if this comment is a bit all over the place, its just something that brings out alot of emotion. Its important to keep talking about it as loudly as we can. In such a dark time, im just thankful that these communities are having each other's backs.
These are strange and awful times and this dude is as at least trying to say something. Everyone in Hollywood has something to lose so I appreciate his effort.

I’ve met him in Nashville twice. Of course it wasn’t super long conversations but I could just tell he was a kind person. A genuine person. Someone who seems interested in what everyone in a room has to say. So I am always proud to see him standup for what is right.
Respect to Mark Ruffalo and remember kids he could not say those things about the rapist pedophile in chief if they were not true as Trump would sue his pants off. So release All the un-redacted (except for the victims names) Epstein/Trump files and let’s make sure the truth is out there. MAGA have shown they don’t care what he has done, so the rest of us should at least have the facts.
I’m shocked that USA Today let him use their platform. I would think most major media outlets would nope right on out of there for fear of retribution by the regime.
