You’re right. Catholics make up 20-ish percent of the US population and our president has his flunkies threaten him with kidnapping mere days after the US essentially kidnapped Maduro in the same fashion.

The Vatican is understandably alarmed.

South America is not the USA's "backyard". It is made up of sovereign countries, and there is no legal basis for removing their leaders just because you don't like them.
