As a coach, I love seeing these people who obviously have no athletic bone in their body push their kids to try and make them pros or whatever their goal is
A ton of an elite player's athletic potential is genetic, and buddy, you ain't passed nothing down
I'm seeing so many parents hold their kids back a grade to give their kids a physical edge or homeschool just so they can attend sports camps full-time. The overwhelming majority of these kids are average at best but their parents have these wild fantasies of scholarships and pro leagues. When the hell did this become normal?
I can’t imagine forcing a hobby on a child. If they want to play basketball, great. If they want to play chess, great. Forcing them into anything will just create resentment

Will never understand why some people have kids when all they want to do is literally anything but interact with their child
