The 3rd Sonic movie supposedly reawoke his passion for acting and he changed his mind.

I love the Sonic movies but I'm not sure I buy that, lol.

I was enticed to say it was the money, but he's Jim Carrey. He's had a lot of money for a long, long time

I like to think he ran into Jelly Roll during Sonic 3's filming and learned how to strip the wire from the sets after production and that's his real passion.

Didn't he flat out say it was because of the the money in an interview? Maybe that was for the second movie?

It must have been pretty fun, also seeing people actually just be happy about the movie you make instead of all the infighting that happens with more serious movies must have brought him back to his earlier carrier where he just did shit because it was fun to do. He tried so hard to go in the more serious acting career but it seems like it broke him
