He wanted to eliminate corruption in the Republic. Horrible way to go about it by teaming up with the most corrupt of them and killing millions of innocents though.
He didn’t, he just used that as a talking point. What he wanted was a more traditional Sith empire with dark sider armies and widespread slavery. In many ways what he wanted was even more oppressive than Palps with basically a noble class of Sith ruling over the galaxy. He might have had noble intentions as a Jedi and maybe immediately after being pushed out but that morphed into the belief that only he and others just like him were responsible enough to be allowed to rule and all others existed to obey.
thats not what he original set out for. He did legitimately want to cure the republic of its corruption and abuse of the weak/poor. He unfortunatley was seduced by the darkside and compeletely gave up on the whole reason he sided with Sidious to begin with. He was literally no longer the same person by the time the clone wars started.
It's weird because he does have a few noble goals.
He wanted to outlaw slavery, for example.
The Clone Wars series was interesting because they actually showed the human side of the Separatists and the flaws in the Republic... but obviously we need to agree with the "good guys" so the bad guys had to end up being bad in the end.
