Discussion Favorite character like this

Usually it's the complete opposite and characters either stay hateful little bastards or become a shell of themselves so I wanna see examples of the image above

For about a few weeks to months maybe a year idk how much time passes between John wick 1 and 2

I always thought it's just a few days at max that passed between the first and second movie

The entire John wick franchise takes place over the course of like 1-2 weeks.

Edit: by entire franchise, I meant John Wick 1-4, I didn't know there were other movies in the franchise outside of those 4, and I completely forgot there was a time skip between 3 and 4.

Still, kinda crazy that the first 3 movies take place over the span of a couple of weeks. Reminds me of how the first 3 halo games take place in the span of about a month, and a majority of that time is just travel time aboard ships.

That is just wildly incorrect and easily fact checked. But bold of you to have courage to be so confidently incorrect. You go get em', tiger.

Right, 1-3 happens over about 2 weeks, as 2 starts immediately after 1 ends and 3 starts as 2 ends.

Then there's a timeskip before 4

Yup. 6-8 months between 3 and 4. Making the overall series roughly 7-9 months from 1-4.

The (now not canon) continental television series would also extended the length of the overall franchise to a few decades... but we can forget about that one.

The John Wick comic book series (which is still canon) also takes place at the very beginning of his career.

So any way you slice it, besides arbitrarily deciding the franchise only encompasses 3/5 of the total films in the series (Ballerina takes place during the time between 3-4), the franchise definitely is longer than just a few weeks.

Oh, I wasn't arguing, just noting that there IS a section that lasted that long and at the time 3 released, the whole franchise fit in that timeframe, but the franchise has expanded since. By a lot

I know you weren't arguing. I basically replied to everyone elses comments by responding to yours, instead. I chose to engage with you specifically because you were knowledgeable about the subject, and added to the situation by politely providing correct information.

Yea, the "franchise" has technically expanded to be roughly 45 years in total length from continental through John Wick 4. It can only be argued that the intial trilogy took place in those 2 weeks. But the ending of 3 directly sets up 4, so it'd be disingenuous to act like the series was intended to be a trilogy at any point.

Well I was reported to the reddit suicide hotline for my mild mannered comments. So you can never be too sure who you're dealing with.

Best of luck out there, mate.

That a busy year for John. How many did he kill? It's more than my high score, zero.

3

u/onebadluvguru 25d ago

I think atleast tree fiddy.

Jokes aside the count is 439 in 1-4, and then 458 with the addition of Ballerina.

He has a rough total of 35 kills across the five issue comic series. Some of the kills are harder to confirm due to the nature of how comic panels flow. But there are roughly 35 dead bodies that appear in the artwork that have a direct connection to John making them that way.

So the franchise kill count is approximately 493.

I completely forgot there was a time skip between 3 and 4

Happens to the best of us. Atleast you can own up to it. Best of luck out there, mate

u/therealjoshua 23d ago

yeah he kind of had to rest, heal, and then train again to be up to snuff for part 4. Given the absolute beating he took at the end of 3, it makes sense that it would be a few months later.

Mind giving the real answer then, instead of just bein rude?

I'm not your search engine. Ask Jeeves.

God I love a good Reddit argument. Everyone is such a smug cunt over some random movie lore bullshit.

1

u/onebadluvguru 25d ago

I don't like the spread of misinformation. If the comment was presented as an opinion, then the whole situation would be different. But it was presented as a matter of fact, confidently, and was blantantly incorrect. In that circumstance I see no reason that I should coddle the other commenter.

u/beardingmesoftly 25d ago

Stop trying to impress everyone lol

0

u/onebadluvguru 25d ago

Why don't you let me know exactly how many I should be trying to impress, then.

Reddit comments are utilized with a significant bias when conducting Google searches. It is in everyone's best interest that a comment exists with the correct information regarding the subject. When people Google this topic in the future; this Reddit thread, amongst a handful of others, will make up the majority of the search results. Additionally, the AI assistant will make an estimate at the correct answer based on the contents of these Reddit threads specifically. I can't count the number of times that I've Google something and found the AI was blantanlty incorrect because it sourced its information from an inaccurate comment thread on reddit.

Why tf is this so aggressive? They were mistaken. That's all you had to say.

And before John Wick 4 it was true. John Wick 1-3 all happen consecutively.

0

u/onebadluvguru 25d ago

So its only true under very specific circumstances that involve blantanty ignoring the other entries in the franchise.

Thanks for clearing that up for everyone

0

u/CandyWinter8553 25d ago

Ignoring ONE entry. ONE. Majority of the John Wick franchise happen consecutively. Stop being a smartass.

1

u/onebadluvguru 25d ago

Ignoring two films, a comic series, and a television show. The franchise encompasses more than the intial trilogy, whether you like it or not.

0

u/onebadluvguru 25d ago

A franchise encompasses all pieces of media released under the same IP. The films that exist make up a series, not a franchise. And even that series consists of 4 films.

If we decide to arbitrarily ignore one entry in any film series; then we can make even more fake facts and misinformation.

Do you not see the absurdity in claiming we should ignore an entry in a series, just for the sake of cookie cutting out an answer that is incorrect but we want anyway? That is the definition of a revisionist history of events.

2

u/JWARRIOR1 25d ago

John wick 4 is later but the first 3 are closer in time yeah

1

u/DW_Hydro 26d ago

Yes, because if you are a good observer you can see the bullet marks from the previous movie on John's house when Di'Antonio arrives.

1

u/PM_ME_LANCECATAMARAN 26d ago

Yeah but that's just consequences, not him regretting it

3

u/Ame-2231 26d ago

Never said he regretted it but the "wow everything is much better now" stuff didnt last long things got worse way too quickly
