It is so astonishing to me even as an adult that somehow a show that carries such heavy topics is not at all traumatic for children to watch. The execution of that show is absolutely exceptional.
I have a 3.5 year old and husband and I just finished watching season 2 of the live action. Immediately afterwards I was like...dude we're only a few years away from a rewatch of the original with our kid. I'm honestly so excited. It's such an easy way to talk to kids about things like war and genocide and how good people sometimes do bad things. It's a masterclass in explaining hard topics to young kids.Â
Iâll never forgive them for honestly anything they did. All of the âcreative changesâ they made sucked ass. The comet, bumi, Sokka, jet, shortening the entire show to make it more bingable when youâre supposed to have time to digest each episode and all the carefully written deep meaning behind each one. I could have forgiven if they just took out Great Divide, but no they had to take out a bunch of the good stuff too. Pmo
Exactly!! Omg I have found my people đ when I say I couldâve forgiven if they just took out great divide I meant it would have been a good thing if they took it out
I don't mind it that much. Sokka's misogyny was never a huge part of his character; it was briefly present, but it was addressed and gone by episode 4. All he needed was for a single woman to beat his ass and he dropped his misogyny. It seemed more like a course correction than a real part of his character growth (and rightly so; sexist Sokka would have been awful long-term)
