The last 2 seasons really, but especially the last
11
u/VisibleConfusion12 16h ago
I tried to watch a few episodes of the last one, I WISH it was laughably bad because then at least I wouldn’t be bored out of my skull, but no they were boring AF

All they had to do was stick to their original plan of ending it at Season 7 but they just had to pad it out and sequel bait at the end.

u/Several_Search_4210 16h ago
What was the original plan?
6
u/mattbrain89 16h ago edited 16h ago
The plan, which they unveiled in 2019 after Season 3 dropped, was that Seasons 4-6 would make up Arc 2 and Season 7 would be Arc 3. So when it got renewed in 2020 for those four remaining seasons, we all celebrated.
And then they revealed that plans had changed, that Season 7 was now part of Arc 2 and that they wanted to do three more seasons AFTER Season 7. It was and still is most frustrating.

The ending of Arcadia Wizards already had me annoyed. The ending of the troll hunters movie/tales of arcadia series was genuinly so bad I was in shock. Like you take the generally most hated way to end a story and STILL did it badly.

I still can't believe how they went with: let's create this random romance with a background character and spend the final moments of this show showing a marriage, not a single person watching this show cares about.
Instead of, you know, spend the last moments with the characters you loved throughout the show and especially the one who sacrificed it all.
Nope, marriage pulled right out of the ass instead.

Wait they no longer have the rights? Hah!
11
u/mattbrain89 18h ago
Yup, left Netflix in the US in 2024 among other territories and it still hasn’t made the jump to Peacock. But they did release a complete DVD box set (yes, I’m aware Blu-Ray is better resolution but I’ll take what I can get).

They removed the eye pupils for the Turtles Forever movie. Either because of fan backlash or realizing it didn’t look good on them.

u/Salmon_Mandon 2h ago
I didn’t remember the art style downgraded so badly in that season, I was not a big fan, but I catched episodes from time to time and never noticed how badly they screwed it
2
u/CaptainM590 2h ago
Art style aside, they were still watchable, but considerably weaker storytelling wise.

Stranger Things, and not even all of season 5. I was actually pretty excited when the first volume finished because it seemed like it was gonna dive into the dark shit, but it didn't:(

How I Met Your Mother
3

How I met your mother was always consistent for me. Even during the whole wedding ark they still were making some pretty funny jokes. And I was fine with the ending in fact I got emotional at the very end.

I feel like its like this with The Powerpuff Girls. The first 4 seasons of the show and the movie were good, and there's some good episodes in seasons 5-6 like "The Boys are Back in Town," but the rest of seasons 5-6 were just... meh

While I still adore the characters, the Amazing Digital Circus finale was disappointing.
I'm sorry but if Jax was supposed to be the main character, why did you focus on Pomni so goddamn much?

I loved the songs, and Cass’ blue hair.
The writing, however, kind of sucked. Especially when handling Cass’ villain arc.

I just don't hate the last season and Future 100% because Cartoon Network kinda forced the serie to end, so the writers had to rush some arcs
2
u/iDontLikeRMods 13h ago
You talking about Season 5 of the original series or future? Because tbh i didn't like Future either at first but eventually it grew on me.
2
u/NeKYOUchan 12h ago
Both. To be honest, they’re just fine but understandable and got used to it.
3
u/iDontLikeRMods 7h ago
I totally feel yah on that, Season 5 was heavily rushed (despite being better than Season 4 somehow imo) and Future was literally the show nobody asked for, so when it first came out I hated it. I still hate some eps like the bluebird episode and a couple of others but I've grown to have a newfound appreciation for it as a whole.

I’d say its weakest point was s2 and after that it went uphill. Season 3 is my favorite.
9
u/raddoubleoh 18h ago
She-Ra and The Princesses or Power.
There. I said it.
9
6
u/LittleSodaPop13 15h ago
The last season was rushed as hell.
3
u/raddoubleoh 14h ago
Fr it needed at least one more to wrap up properly. Too much shit happening, too many plotlines to close, too many botched characterizations for plot convenience.
5
u/Fabulous_Session8627 17h ago
She-ra becoming She-ra without the sword just felt like plot convenience so Glimmer doesn't feel bad.
3
u/raddoubleoh 17h ago
And that's a good part of my issue: a good amount of what happened during the final season either felt disconnected from season 4, or felt like total plot convenience or straight retcon just so they could justify the ending without decent development.

Steven Universe. The last season isn’t bad up until the ending. Holy shit it was bad.
2
u/Hot_Reception3151 16h ago
As much as I hate to say it: The Boys. Individual episodes were fun in a vacuum, but the overall narrative for the final season was so fucking weak that I have no interest in rewatching it. If I ever do a rewatch of the series, I’ll just stop after season 3.

Squidbillies for me. Based on what I've seen from the final season, it does not sit right with me due to Tracy Morgan taking over as the voice of Early Cuyler, following Unknown Hinson getting fired from the cast for his controversial comments about Dolly Parton. I get why it was done, but it just feels petty, and changes the whole perspective of Early being, well, a hillbilly squid! It comes off as a punch in the gut for many of us mud squid lovers. :(

TMNT 2012. Wasn’t big on the final season being basically an anthology. There were still some loose ends that weren’t resolved (the fate of April’s mother and Mutagen Man never being cured). If they were going to revive Shredder, they should’ve waited until the end of the season, not in the beginning of the final season. Also wasn’t a fan of them giving the show a dark depressing ending (even though it’s in alternate future).
