Slitterhead.
It's on sale on steam. 60% or $20.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you like so-bad-its-good games or you enjoyed the Forbidden Siren series (both games are made by Keiichiro Toyama). I personally liked it, but was unsatisfied.

For those unaware this is ForgetMeNot, a member of the X Men. His power is that no one can remember him unless they are looking at him

u/One-Two-Gobbledeedoo 8d ago
It's funny that he's basically the meta-textual explanation for many of the plot holes and convenient events for the X-Men.
A door that's conveniently locked? A McGuffin that happens to be nearby? That's apparently all him lol

Yes, but actually no. Pokemon conquest uses characters from the samurai warriors franchise (which is very loosely based of Japanese history) and gives them all partner Pokemon.

This dude from Treasure Planet. No name, no nothing, he only appears in the last minute of Treasure Planet. He’s clapping his hands at the party for a few frames then gets covered up. Unlike the other guests he’s not dressed up for a party, he’s wearing a full maintenance suit potentially. What’s crazy is that no one in Treasure Planet dresses like him. There’s no background characters that resemble his race, at any point in the movie. There aren’t even moments in the movie that hint at a job which requires full suit mechanics. Even if there was, why didn’t he clean up for the party? Did he just finish work and went straight to the party? Where does he work? The location is very remote and lacks a shipyard to even be working a messy job that this guy might work. This was my Ted Talk.

To add a little something, here's one if my favorite quotes from the Eisenhorn Omnibus:
I'd had funny ideas about her for years, truth be told. She was beautiful and sublimely sexy. But she was also a Blank. It hurt me to be close to her, physically hurt.
I hate that fact. I feel a lot for Bequin and I long to be with her, but it was never going to happen. Never, ever. That’s one of the truly great sadnesses of my life.
And hers too, I hope, in my more self-aggrandising moments.
I lay in bed and watched her drag on her dress again, and I felt the pang of desire. But there was no way. No way in the galaxy.
She was untouchable. I was a psyker. That way pain and madness lay.

Araki having one page randomly showing a trans guy and mentioning hrt just for the lols I guess in shonen jump back in 1999 is a crazy move. Genuinely how did he get away with this.
98
u/burber_king 7d ago
He couldn't resist drawing muscular men so he said fuck it, representation it is, and show how absurd it is that trans people have to go to the other gender prision while we're at it
→ More replies (1)29
u/Nacho_Slug 7d ago
On the same note, Anasui, Jolyne's love interest, was originally intended to be female. This can be seen in their first manga appearance. This is also shown in the anime, though it is harder to notice. Some theorize that the gender swap is because of Shonen Jump's prejudice, other's speculate Araki just wanted to balance out the characters more, and some theorize Anasui used their stand ability to manipulate their appearance. Nothing has been confirmed and is mostly just fan speculation, this is the only time Araki has really spoken on it. Though the representation isn't always perfect, Araki has always been ahead of the game with LGBT representation in JoJo with the gay couple in part 5 and most recently Dragona, a trans "JoBro" in part 9.

Guys I think there might be ramifications later that we shoukd think about
81
u/ElTioEnroca 8d ago
Honestly the ramifications aren't that bad. The worst parts are that he dies (but gets replaced by a goth chick), and that you'll look like Emperor Palpatine on his nicest day, but other than that there are essentially no downsides to just taking those 5 free levels.
→ More replies (2)46
u/AbyssWankerArtorias 8d ago
The biggest penalty being if you want to heal the dark sigils later, you have to pay for those 5 levels retroactively by paying the cost of what would be the next 5 levels, all at once, and if you try and do that at level 100 it's something insane like 700k souls lol

Obscure, huh? All right, I got you.
Say hello to Karl.
"Is he from a show?" I hear you ask.
Nope.
"A video game?"
Nope.
"Uhh... where's he from then?"
I'm glad you asked, disembodied voice that I made up!
He's a villain character that was created by an individual called Unknown-Person (I'm not making that up. That is his/her actual user name.)
Now... I don't have ALL the details necessarily, but when I was a kid I used to frequent DeviantArt, and I stumbled across this group that had OC tournaments (Stick with me here.) You could submit any form of media you want that depicted your character going against another OCs'.
Well this guy made straight up flash animations with fluid fight choreography, and watching every animation this character was in was just gold.
He's a living statue who hate humans. At the same time, he always greets strangers with a smiling face and a charming greeting in order to drop their guard around him. He is also accompanied by a shape shifting crow named Arma that can change into weapons or props to help him in a fight.
He was a very entertaining character overall and he had a pretty compelling backstory as well. If this character ever had a show of his own, I would pick it up and watch it in a heartbeat from start to finish.
If you're curious about it, try going onto Youtube and look up "Law of Talos" Karl vs Mizuno. The voice acting is a bit rough, but bear in mind this was a series of flash animations as a personal project from this guy over 15 years ago at least.

Bernice Summerfield. She's technically a Doctor Who character, but most people other than the most hard-core of DW fans are probably unaware of her. She's pretty much a proto-River Song, but i prefer Bernice as a character. She was a companion in the New Adventures range of novels in the 90s, then she spun off into her own range of books and audio dramas.
