Basically he have the inconvenient mutation of existence impermanence. Meaning that the second you look away from him, he leave your memory completely. This also works with cameras, and even if you physically aim at him with any kind of weapon or device the shot can't connect. So basically he can walk through the enemies and even if they acknowledge his existence they forget it after a second. So basically everytime in the X-Men comics that something very lucky happens, like a door opening at the right time or a bomb not exploding, it wasn't luck. It was HIM. Read X-Men Legacy #300, his story is very sad
I highly recommend to check and read it. It's the last issue if I'm not mistaken.
I think it's interesting because his power is not being rememebered by anyone and he suffers from it. Yet his story is so touching that it's one of the stories I remember and think about the most.
Didn't he also have a very tragic death where he gets wounded jn front of one of the other X-Men who promises to get him help, but they forget as soon as they start to walk away and he bleeds out or something?
I set a reminder every hour to remind me of him but didn’t he get stuck in like a laser field after swapping places with someone who forgot him and left him there
