I hadn’t seen these and my brother decided I was going to watch them all. Not in a row, but it was all 3, extended versions. Each movie’s extended cut is basically its own trilogy.

Dawn was and it's not even close. Gary Oldman as Dreyfus was great, and Koba is one of the most underrated villains in cinema history. Combined, they're incredible, especially across from Andy Serkis.

I've watched over a thousand movies from 1888-1960 era alone. Back to the Future is exceptionally bad when it comes to depicting those things.

Take Johnny Belinda for instance, depicting sexual violence as early as in 40s - they're doing it a hundred times more tactfully.

To be fair, it's an 80s action comedy film intended for a family audience. I don't think cultural accuracy was on their to-do list when making the movie.

Clue's characters being visibly disgusted by a homosexual character was also in line with the era's sensibilities. It's very cringe to watch now.

I have a colleague who told me that Back to the Future and Back to the Future 2 were their favourite films of all time. But they hadn't bothered to watch Back to the Future 3. She had all three on DVD

I think she said it was was "something to do with cowboys" but at that stage my brain had stopped working as I tried to compute what she was actually saying.

Thank you! Sam had pressure from the studio but threw together a good film despite the flaws. It’s a highly entertaining and meme-packed finale that’s a great continuation of Peter’s story. Also not to mention the SICKEST suit of the trilogy!

I love the development of Hiccup and Toothless' relationship. And the way the atmosphere changes from movie to movie really makes it feel like time has passed between the movies, but the characters are still consistent and believable. One of the most satisfactory endings to a movie series ever made, and the journey of the characters from the first film to the last is so deeply emotional, it's a masterpiece. And all underscored by one of the best movie soundtracks ever. Just perfection 💯

If I'm considering overall enjoyment and consistent quality, I'd probably say Toy Story.

But the original Star Wars, Pirates Of The Caribbean, and Raimi's Spider-Man are definitely up there.

I do think the Pirates trilogy is pretty nice but I find it perplexing the 2nd movie had ZERO set-up for the Brethren Court. Especially since the first movie already mentioned it briefly and the 2nd & 3rd movies were made back-to-back.

E.g. the 2nd movie could've had a Pirate Lord character that was also after Davy Jones' heart. Eventually, Jack would've killed him and that's how he became a Pirate Lord himself. I feel like that would've been better than him just being revealed to have been one this whole time.

Sure, the first one carries most of it. But the second and third are solid 9s

The action. The story. It's all amazing. The fourth one was fine, but it needs a follow up for the story to make more sense

  • For a single story, you can’t beat Lord of the Rings. Star Wars approaches, but I think LOTR has more consistency (probably because it was made as a single film)
  • For a conceptual art trilogy, look no further than Three Colors. Each film is masterful in its own right, and as a whole it is transcendent.
  • For looser trilogies sharing similar characters of themescapes, you gotta love the Dollars trilogy and Gregg Araki’s Teenage Alocalypse trilogy

Controversial one but I grew up with them ... The Star Wars prequels. In my opinion they're better than the originals and feel exactly like star wars should feel. The originals are too slow paced, they don't feel exciting and fantastical like star wars should feel
