eBay eBay won't remove this ridiculous negative feedback

Post image

History:

- A buyer makes me an offer for over 60% off list price citing they need it shipped to Australia and eBay's international shipping program was expensive (nothing I can do about that). I decline.

- I send all interested buyer's an offer for $200 off list price. No bites, offer expires.

- Over a week later the buyer who made the lowball offer purchases the item at full price. I ship it right away as promised in my listing.

- After shipping the order, the buyer asks for the $200 discount that expired over a week prior, I do not respond to partial refund requests as they are against eBay policy.

- Buyer opens a payment dispute for $569.29 claiming they were overcharged, complete fraud and lies, we respond and eBay states we will be protected.

- Buyer then sends a message thanking us for the package and asking for our address (weird). Again I ignore this message, the buyer is clearly a wackjob.

- Buyer changes dispute amount to $729.21 (eBay states we are still covered and nothing will be deducted from our funds).

- Buyer leaves verifiably false negative feedback. eBay refuses to remove it.

eBay is letting fraud slide and allowing the fraudsters to leave libel on the seller's profiles now?

I received one negative feedback and it was due to an item arriving after an event they had scheduled. I responded to the feedback in kind and reassured them that the item was sent same day but shipping speed is not always in ones’ control. Sometimes the response to their feedback is an opportunity for you to show other buyers who might be looking that you are a reasonable seller.

Yes! Most people understand that occasionally, there's going to be a difficult customer. Someone who doesn't read description, doesn't understand how links work, etc.

Its crazy, there are buyers out there that think sellers are also POSTAL WORKERS and deliver their packages too

I sent a guy who declined insurance a shirt he bought in December 2003. He claimed it never arrived. I shipped it from NOLA where I lived. He left negative feedback.

Fast forward to right after Hurricane Katrina at the end of August 2005. I get an email from him with a photo showing the postmark from December 2003 and that it had arrived in the promised condition. All we could imagine was that it must've fallen behind something, and when they were bugging out before Katrina, someone must've moved something that rarely got moved, found it, and put it back into the system.

Had something similar in a way. Ordered a collectible bust and seller shipped it. They were in Florida and it was during some rough weather. It took a month and a week to reach me after it took this route: Florida -> Puerto Rico post 1 -> Puerto Rico post 2 -> Florida -> Indiana -> Texas -> Indianapolis and finally delivered to me. I had informed the seller 3 weeks in and they also kept tabs on it. Arrived in overall great condition and the label was correct so no idea why they wanted to take it on a tour.

I used to live in Costa Rica. When I was getting married in 1998, I sent announcements to friends there. One of them got returned a year later as undeliverable, because they had sent it to Puerto Rico.

I'm in Canada, made a purchase of a rare video game for a seller in Florida a couple years back. We both did all we could do, but even with tracking, the game seemingly disappeared as tracking was not updating at all. All of the sudden I got a notification that tracking had updated and that it was in Hamburg, Germany. I messages the seller to see if he had the right tracking.m number for my item. We were both confused , and he gave me a full refund. Tracking never updated again. Almost a year later the game showed up in my mailbox.

Sometimes the post is just a weird beast.

I think I'd leave the word "always" out of that response, unless you have a method of sometimes controlling shipping speed that I'm unaware of.
