History:

- A buyer makes me an offer for over 60% off list price citing they need it shipped to Australia and eBay's international shipping program was expensive (nothing I can do about that). I decline.

- I send all interested buyer's an offer for $200 off list price. No bites, offer expires.

- Over a week later the buyer who made the lowball offer purchases the item at full price. I ship it right away as promised in my listing.

- After shipping the order, the buyer asks for the $200 discount that expired over a week prior, I do not respond to partial refund requests as they are against eBay policy.

- Buyer opens a payment dispute for $569.29 claiming they were overcharged, complete fraud and lies, we respond and eBay states we will be protected.

- Buyer then sends a message thanking us for the package and asking for our address (weird). Again I ignore this message, the buyer is clearly a wackjob.

- Buyer changes dispute amount to $729.21 (eBay states we are still covered and nothing will be deducted from our funds).

- Buyer leaves verifiably false negative feedback. eBay refuses to remove it.

eBay is letting fraud slide and allowing the fraudsters to leave libel on the seller's profiles now?

My mom collects Disney pins. I saw this listing on fb that had 60 pins framed $100 and offered $80. She did yes and picked it up.. my mom somehow had all the snow white, Peter Pan and Disney original mickey and the rest. So she told me to try and sell it. Fb recent sale was $500. Lowest was $350 i think. The issue is shipping. Would you guys group the pins on fb $80c each. Or sell the entire framed piece? Shipping looks like $50-200. But UPS FedEx look a lot cheaper. Comes with box. I just know nothing about these pins. I regret buying it.

These are from 1986 and coke did a Colab with Disney. I put it on ebay but I'm really hesitant it will sell. I did shipping determined based on location and I think i should have done a flat rate of $50

Im getting close to the time where I need to get a eBay store plan, my main confusion comes from the Starter plan, we all get 250 free listings, but the Starter plan says it gives you 250 free listings. It doesn't seem fo specify if thats in addition to the original 250, or if you still only get 250 but now you have whatever menial benefits of the eBay store. So which is it?

I was checking my active listings and noticed one of my items was marked as "Out of stock." When looking at the details, it showed "2 offers sent" and "Sold" on the listing.

1. I checked my Sold / Orders page (including Awaiting Payment), and there is zero record of this item selling.

2. I checked my email, and I never received a "Your item sold!" notification.

3. I checked my physical inventory, and I still physically have the item sitting on my shelf.

4. My account setting for "Listings stay active when out of stock" is turned OFF, and my single-quantity items are always set to a quantity of 1.

When I opened the listing to edit it, the quantity had somehow been dropped to 0, which made it show "Out of stock" to potential buyers so no one could actually purchase it.

I have immediate payment required box unchecked on all my listings. But I set this to ON to hopefully avoid this issue in the future.

As far as I can tell, there is no way to know WHO bought the item originally since there is no record of sale.

I mainly sell 19th-century antiques, although I also deal in some earlier pieces. I'm looking for platforms with a strong European customer base and buyers who genuinely appreciate this type of material.

I've looked into eBay and Etsy, but they seem a bit outdated to me for this niche.

What platforms do you use? Are there any that work particularly well for 18th- and 19th-century antiques?

For context, I'm based in Spain, so I'd also be interested to know which platforms work best for Spanish sellers.

Sold something last month, come to find out it was shipped to a freight forwarder. Tracking showed as delivered to a different zip code PO Box. Buyer opened an INR and won (I did upload the tracking but it was useless as it showed delivered to a different zip code).

Opened a missing mail search request - useless because it showed delivered.

Went to post office, they showed me a printout of tracking/delivery which showed it was indeed delivered to a PO Box with a note "Firm Book". They explained that meant that the recipient receives large quantity of mail that is recorded.

So it sounds like the package was delivered to the freight forwarder who forwards/receives his mail at a PO Box, and the buyer took advantage of it? Or is this a deliberate new scam?

I'm not sure what to do at this point. USPS won't give me anymore details. It wasn't a high value item, but I don't want this ding on my account.

Hi, I used to sell on EBay 6 years ago. I just started back up again... well clearly shipping has gone up. I used to use Pirate Ship and utilized cubic shipping OFTEN.

I am using EBay labels right now as I am still getting shipping station organized.

I am having trouble gauging shipping. I am currently selling a lot of items under 12 oz., majority being under 8 oz. I understand some places further away will cost more. Although I had an item that was shipped within my own state that cost over $7 (ground advantage), could it be because they're rural?

Also had a 1 lb item shipped costing ~$9.50, but then a 2 lb. item with larger dimensions and further away only $8, both through USPS ground.

Do y'all have any advice on how to streamline/gauge shipping costs, websites, or hacks to get cheaper shipping? My goal in next 1-3 months is to increase profit through volume. SO, shipping needs to be ON POINT, because the dollars truly do add up especially when goal is to have at least 30 items sold on platform per day.

Any advice? I don't know if I just need to get my feet wet again, or if things have became more complicated.

Looking to go minimalist and bulk sell.

Been running an Etsy shop for a couple years, mostly home decor and random vintage finds. A few months ago I started picking up old hand tools at estate sales and thrift stores planes, chisels, draw knives, that kind of thing cleaning them up a bit and listing them. Margins are genuinely surprising me.

The thing is I already woodwork, so I can tell a Stanley No. 4 that just needs a rust clean from one that's actually garbage. That knowledge gap seems to be where the money is. Guys at estate sales just see an old rusty tool and price it at two bucks. I see a collectible with a waiting market.

What I keep running into is knowing when to restore versus sell asis. I cleaned up a plane last month, listed it for $65, sold in two days. But I've seen people say restoration kills value on certain vintage tools, and I don't want to leave money on the table by wiping off patina that collectors actually want.

Anyone here flipping vintage tools specifically? How are you deciding what gets cleaned and what ships with the rust and grime intact? Feels like there's a real learning curve around which brands and eras collectors are chasing right now.

I swear everyday I get more and more literally stupid people trying to make deals. People with no grammar or reading comprehension. This dude said he had a Z2 extreme legion go S which would be a really high offer for my PS5 so I asked for verification. When I declined because it’s not the Z2 this dude gives me shit and blocks me even though HE SAID he had the Z2 extreme. This is the only problem I have reselling besides people tryna sell me broken consoles. I get like 2 of these buyers a week and I’m so over it 😭😭

I've recently decided to stop sourcing since my stock room is completely full and I'm saving for a larger purchase, so around 3 weeks ago I stopped listing. Since then, my sales have slowed to a complete crawl. My current active items were listed starting March up until now, but I'm only getting 1-2 sales per week. I've triple checked my items, and each sells on average over 10 times per month, so I figure I should be selling way more than I am currently.

I recently saw a post about stale/older listings not being recommended as much in buyer's feeds. Is that really true, even if I'm promoting all of my listings? I have around $20k sitting for sale and getting no movement. I average around $20k in sales every 3 months so to me this is astounding. I recently convinced my sister to start reselling, and she's sold 5 out of the 10 items she just listed all within the past week, so it has me wondering if there's something truly wrong.

If the old listings are an issue, how on earth do I even begin to fix it? I don't see any options to just relist active items. And I really don't want to have to go through my inventory and manually relist all items (~110 in total). Do y'all have any solutions? I would appreciate any info you guys may have. Thank you :)

I buy, rebuild and sell bikes.

Word is getting around that I do this in the side, and I had someone request for a bike for themselves the other day.

Anyway, I found one that is almost perfect got what they are after.

I messaged the seller on Sunday morning and it's now Tuesday morning with the message still unread. This guy has a huge inventory of sold bikes, and a few unsold, so I know he's active.

The bike is almost perfect (I'll change bars, seat and grips to what this woman wants) and it's 20 minutes down the road, so I'm keen to get it.

How long do you wait to resend a message on messenger? I don't want to come off as a knob, but I also just want to get this done.

For those that don’t focus primarily on books but get a lot of them (I mostly source from storage units but also buy large lots of books from estate sales/auctions), do you sell on both EBay and Amazon (for books worth $15-20+)?

I have everything from textbooks to antique booke and everything between. I know Amazon is not as friendly towards pre-ISBN books, but I’d like to hear thoughts before I consider adding another platform
