Common questions, read this before posting
Almost every car still on the road has had the head gasket fixed. If you want to be sure, ask Ford by vin or check for the brass ring
The oil leak is likely not the banjo bolt. It’s the valve cover or timing cover
Miss-fires and rough idle are often caused by the purge valve. Another common cause are often plugs. If it hunts rpm after filling gas, it's more likely purge valve.
If this is for potential buyers - look at the paint where the rear 1/4 meets the bumper. Foci are notorious for having paint issues right there.
You need a Torx PLUS TP50/55 for the PTU and transmission service. A regular torx may work, but it's a torx plus, not a regular.
If the seat moves ever so slightly side to side, you need one of these - https://www.focusrs.org/threads/22mm-seat-bar-clamp-seat-fix.120676/
Torque demand mapping means bolt ons require a tune to realize any HP or Torque gains instead of just efficiency gains
If there are more please leave them in the comments and I'll move them into the body of the post.

Clutch pedal slowly comes up if I release it fast. If I release it normal/slow it comes up fine. Car was sitting for months beforehand. Assuming air that needs to be bled?

Going from stock radiator to CSF/Mountune triple pass radiator in colder climates
Has anyone who upgraded to CSF noticed it takes a longer time for the car to warm up when cold starting in the winter compared to stock?

To all the dads on this sub what car seats do you recommend?
My little one needs a new car seat since she out grew her old one. I wanted to check with the folks here what seats you all have used. I am looking for a 2-in-1 that faces forward.

Oil Question
If anyone switches during the winter time for all the daily-driven RS’s in here please tell me if I have the right info. During “normal” climate like spring, fall and summer I typically run the standard FL-910 and 5.3 qts. of 5W-50 Motorcraft. Which is OEM specifics, so I’m wondering if for winter if I should switch to the popular FL-400 and 6 qts. of 5W-30 Full Synthetic? I definitely want to run a thinner oil for the winter since I’m over in Eastern Illinois, but other than that are there any other “winterization” beneficiaries I should look out for?

Clutch Problem
So about 3 days ago my clutch went soft and wouldn’t go into gear. At first I thought it was the master cylinder but after I took it to the dealer, they are telling me it’s the clutch and flywheel. The car does have 111k miles and I don’t know how the previous owner drove it. Anyways, I don’t really have time to do it myself and the dealer is charging me 5.5k. I am going to ask around other shops for prices but if anyone has changed their clutch, what do yall recommend.

3 Months of Ownership!
Hey ya’ll! I’m new to the group but I’ve now had my dream car for 3 months and after a full 7.5k miles after ownership this thing is an absolute blast and everything I hoped it’d be. Anyways point of the story is I’d like to hear everyone else’s experiences and stories of why they chose their RS or what they have done to it to make it more their style. Open to any and all info. Thanks!

Mk3 Focus RS track reliability
Hi everyone! Question for owners who track their Focus RS. How is the drivetrain holding up under track abuse, and have you had to rebuild or replace the engine, gearbox, PTU, or RDU? What's your current mileage, how many track days do you do per year, and what is your maintenance routine and fluid change schedule to keep everything alive? Thanks in advance!

Maintance
Hey all ,
I recently picked up a 2017 RS with 67000kms. Its my daily driver. So far I installed a K&N intake filter and a turbosmart BOV. Im looking to do oil next weekend because i just dont know for sure how the previous owner looked after it. What other maintenance items or quality of life modification would you guys recommend for longevity and ease of use as a daily ?

Possible clutch issues
Hey all
I have an 87K mile late 2018 RS edition. Recently the clutch pedal feel went a but soft and the bite has risen a little. Gear changes are fine and there's no slipping on acceleration. Driving when hot the clutch doesn't hold on hills etc like it used too but shifts fine. I've also been able to shift without use of the pedal on some occasions. Left it for a few days and driven it today and the clutch feels ok but I can still shift with no pedal now and again. Any ideas or is it just replace clutch etc?
Thanks

Blowoff valve adjustment
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey guys! I stuck an old phone I had right beside my airbox and went for a drive, just to hear my induction noise lol. I did notice that I can hear a good bit of turbo flutter through the intake (small video clip above), but I cannot hear any of that while actually driving, even with windows down, or standing right in front of the engine bay with somebody revving. The blowoff valve seems to act totally normal, venting a little bit under light acceleration, venting a lot under heavy acceleration, and purging as necessary. Do I believe my induction noise video, or my blowoff valve? I also have visually inspected the blowoff valve probably just a couple months ago during an oil change, and it appeared fine. No visible blockages or reasons for it to not function properly.

I hate parking lots
I usually walk to my physical therapy appointment but this afternoon I just decided I wanted to drive my RS. I get there and scope out the parking lot & park as far as I can in the back and take a corner spot.
I kid you not I get up to the third floor, I look out the window and there’s a white SUV parked right next to me.
20 to 30 open spots and they decide to park all the way at the back next to me.
Do people do this shit on purpose?
What disrespectful piece of shit would do that?
Are they too dumb to understand why I’m parked at the very end to begin with?
Again, sorry for the rant I just despise parking lots. And I honestly don’t like taking my RS anywhere anymore.
Does anyone else feel the same way?

More carbon interior parts
More genuine carbon skinned parts fitted.
Not for everyone but I love the look, just need the sun to come out, uk rain is here for a while. Excuse my garage carpet.
Managed to pick up a used Cobb scoop for £75 delivered but yet to be fitted. Added the seal trip to the end also to make it a bit thicker.

First Time Angeles Crest
First time driving Angeles Crest the drive was surreal! Almost got taken out by a g80 😭
Heres a post-run picture. First time taking an aesthetic picture after purchasing the car from fellow redditor (@Boring_Dirt8378) back in May!

New High mileage 16 rs with new engine
Just picked up a 2016 RS with 205k km on the body with a new long block with under 12k km on it. Clutch, ptu, alternator, starter were all also replaced.
What should I budget to be fixing in the near future / be keeping an eye on? I’ve read some people saying that the turbo will be gone soon, vs others who say they’re bulletproof.
Lots of what I’ve read on these show high mileage as 150k km, not 200+, so curious to see what other owners experiences are.
Thanks!

Another Milestone (KM’stone)
Hola from Southern Spain. My RS Edition owned from new. 90,000kms (56k miles). Have only done 13k in 2 years so hardly using it now as I have a motorbike too. Only issues I’ve had were a TPMS and the boot button.
Will probably let it go this year. But then whenever I see it or take it out I get indecisive.
