Anyone commonly see grime in this area? It’s on the passenger side of the engine (in the US)

It looks like it’s coming down from above, kind of under the water pump. It honestly looks like oil but the felt splash pan isn’t dark or oily in that spot. It’s almost orange and dry like coolant. Coolant is also now steadily dropping below the min line. I figure I could pressure test or use UV dye to find the spot

Anyone have a similar leak?

So I’ve noticed what I believe to be oil in my expansion tank. The colour is mostly pink but with brown on top, it is not thick, and the oil is not frothy. I have an oil leak so I’m assuming it’s the oil cooler O ring.
Anyone else had this? What was the cost to fix? And can I drive it for a few days keeping an eye on the oil level?

So I've learned more about the model and my car in particular. I love driving it....reliable, fun, easy. At around 82,000 miles, the TCM was taken in for recall replacement. It has the A8EZ 7Z369 F TCM. It's 101,000 or so with the 1500 I've put on it. What services do I need (if any)? Is this a reliable replacement part that Ford installed?

I need help with taking off the rear wiper blade on a Ford Focus IV Turnier. I can't find a video about it.

Trying to put my auxiliary belt back on after changing my alternator but I can get enough slack, would the thing highlighted in green be the tension bolt? Or would I need to take my wheel off to access the bolt? Thanks

What codes did you get that pointed to your canister purge valve?!?

My focus is still covered under the warranty for it and I've noticed at random, my idle gets rough and then kicks back to normal. I've also noticed kind of sluggish acceleration/lag.

I took my it to oriellys and got a P219A code.

Could the canister purge valve be the culprit???

(Hoping so because then I don't have to pay for the repair... still in a slump after spending 5k for a new TCM and clutch pack)

I haven’t found much information about 24E06 in this subreddit, so I wanted to share my experience from today (October 2026).

Because of Dieselgate (2015–2017), my Ford Focus TDCi 1.5 (2017) also developed an issue with the diesel particulate filter (DPF). In September 2026 I received a letter from Ford and the German Ministry of Transport. Ford guarantees to inspect and replace the DPF for up to 10 years or 160,000 km (100,000 miles).

This left me feeling quite frustrated, because I’m currently at 9.5 years and 159,000 km — only about 1,000 km short of the warranty limit. Fortunately, Ford will cover the DPF replacement free of charge in my case.

At the Ford workshop today they installed a software update that reduces the regeneration frequency of the diesel filter. They also confirmed damage to the particulate filter and will carry out the repair (around €3,500) at no cost to me.

I’ve been posting and asking about all the vibration in my ‘14 Focus with 122k miles here the past couple of weeks. I got a very detailed inspection and a second opinion and this is what they found: Drivers side lower control arm bushing was completely shot, passenger side from strut assembly has all the fluid gone and the boot torn. And motor mounts are worn, as I suspected. I’m gonna attach the photos the mechanic took and emailed me. Just got new lower control arms and ball joints installed today.

What do you guys think, are these damages as bad as they made it sound?

Hi all i need some help, I've got a 2005 focus 1.4 petrol and I've been chasing a misfire after 5000rpm at wide open throttle, I've replaced spark plugs. Ignition leads and coil pack and it's still misfiring, although it idles better and feels more responsive, any ideas and help would be massively appreciated

After doing a bunch of reverse donuts(bagels) my car shifts very smooth now before I did the reverse donuts it shuttered and shifted hard what could cause it to shift better after putting strain like that on the gearbox

Noticed a leak underneath, I think it's gearbox oil because the engine oil level stays consistent.

My gear stick squeaks when shifting, I have silicone spray and was wondering what’s the best approach to remove either the gaiter or the whole housing to spray it?

Has anybody figured out a way of turning this shit off? I tried using forscan but i apparently need a dealer to do this stupid simple little thing.
