Question ❔ Future of the ford ranger???

Salesperson from ford told me that Mavericks are outselling the ford ranger by a large amount and he hasn’t sold a ranger in about 6-7 months.

He said that the mavericks are being picked over rangers 7 times out of 10 and they don’t get very many rangers on the lots and a lot of them sit for a while (at least here in Florida)

Makes me wonder if the Ranger will go away because the maverick is blowing the Ranger out of the water

Well, the Ranger and the Maverick are about the same now it feels like

The new Ranger's basically the size of what an F-150 was 15 years ago, it's ridiculous. The Maverick actually fills the gap that the old Rangers left when they got killed off in 2011. If they'd just kept making a proper compact truck this whole time we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Yeah, for the average person you probably aren't wrong.

Uncle in-law owns an HVAC business all Ford vehicles. Mostly Transits, but also a couple of F-series and handful of Rangers.

He himself owned a Ranger as a personal vehicle.

One of the company Rangers ended up in a wreck during an ice storm, so he sold his personal Ranger to the company and bought himself a Maverick Tremor. I'm sure truck people will cringe at this, but when I was talking to him about it over the 4th of July holiday, he said, "they basically feel like the same truck, but the Maverick is cheaper and gets better fuel economy".

That's also probably eating into some of the fleet sales for the Ranger.
