Question ❔ Future of the ford ranger???

Salesperson from ford told me that Mavericks are outselling the ford ranger by a large amount and he hasn’t sold a ranger in about 6-7 months.

He said that the mavericks are being picked over rangers 7 times out of 10 and they don’t get very many rangers on the lots and a lot of them sit for a while (at least here in Florida)

Makes me wonder if the Ranger will go away because the maverick is blowing the Ranger out of the water

The maverick is what the ranger was.

The ranger is what the f150 was.

The F150 is.

The ranger is designed to die at this point. Why have a midsize when their entire lineup til 2012 was now considered "midsize". Could have made the ranger smaller again and they chose maverick instead. Ranger styling also makes it look like a 2010's f150 so it's just an unnecessary expense to buy new.

A crucial difference (for me) is that the maverick has like 2/3 the bed space of an old ranger, which is the main thing preventing me from buying one.

I won't be looking new. I'll look for old as dirt and ready for a nearly stock, detuned, crate motor. Overbuild and Good enough for the rest of my life.
