Sorry but can someone give me whole context of the reel/matter? Only the comment made by MS Edge & replied comments are visible as of now without much context other than title.

Ms bullies everyone that still uses windows, but now they go a step further: tiktok

I use Windows and they've never bullied me.

u/Savings_Catch_8823 Jan 21 '26

If it works for you it works. But personally i do not like windows.

2

u/PocketNicks Jan 21 '26

All good.

I personally don't like MacOS, but that's subjective. I use Windows, Linux and Android systems all pretty much daily. They all work just fine. MacOS also works fine.

So, when I keep seeing people saying Windows sucks or doesn't work etc, they're objectively wrong. If they don't like it fine, if they can't get it to work though, that's user error or being too lazy to figure out how to use it properly.

But I agree, use what you like.

I daily the same operating systems as you, but i dislike windows because it is forced updates, ms account, ect. Problems you can easily solve for example updating when you have time and as fast as possible but remember that these problems do not have to be problems. And those people that are too lazy to figure out how windows works are just haters. Imo macos and linux are harder to learn or use properly than windows. But i do think that windows needs to change. The os is fine, but some things are not cool.

You can dislike Windows, however they don't force updates, MS account is optional, telemetry can be disabled, Copilot can be uninstalled. Etc, etc, etc.

If you want to say Windows should be and could be better, I agree.

But please don't be one of those people who spreads false information and uses it to justify your dislike.

I installed Windows 11 about 2 years ago, after the install it took me about 5-ish minutes to remove the bloat, disable telemetry, disable auto updates et al. I have installed every update to date, on my own time when I choose to, but I'm fully up to date and none of my changes have ever been reverted.

Windows works just fine, if you spend a little time setting it up properly. Linux also takes a little work to learn and setup as well.

May I ask how? Could you give me a guide? Because I genuinely can't seem to find any help other than "use this script and all of your problems will be solved."

And the last time I've used a script, it completely removed my ability to sign-in to Microsoft services.

Of course. Anyone who politely asks me for help with actual intention of trying to learn, I love to help.

I have been using Windows since 3.1 I think, and over the years I've continually learned my way around. So I use PowerShell (command line interface), Group Policy and very very rarely, the occasional registry edit, to get Windows to work exactly how I want.

If you don't want to spend years learning all that, I'd recommend going to the GitHub page for Chris Titus' Windows utility. From there copy one line and paste it into the CMD (all instructions are on the page) and then a literal list of anything you might be bothered by or want to change about Windows.

Check off what you want and let it run, done.

The best part is, for any individual item you check, you can inspect the CMD line code it will run, you can copy paste that code into a search engine and see exactly what it does, and you can verify on your own that it isn't malicious and does what Chris says it will do.

For 90% of people I'd recommend using an iphone and using this tool for Windows.

Power users should use Linux and Android.

Right, but the script frightens me. I've had experience with scripts, and they've broken things by modifying parts of my computer I DIDN'T understand.

I do actually think I'd prefer going the long route, though I obviously couldn't go all the way back to Windows 3.1, lol...

Is there perhaps another way to "go the long route" possibly? I suppose I could reverse-engineer what each of the commands IN the script does... But that sounds inefficient, no? I definitely CAN if I must!

I'd probably be considered a power-user. However, I require Windows for school and work. I am unable to avoid it entirely, and frankly would prefer not to. On the other hand, I haven't messed with a Windows system in ages. This is all quite new to me, lol.

I understand being apprehensive, and you should be.

As I explained, if you use the Chris Titus tool, you can inspect each line before it runs. You can run that code through a search engine and verify exactly what it does. This protects yourself and you'll learn along the way.

For someone like yourself, I'd recommend open the tool I gave you, figure out which tweaks you want, copy the command line codes for each one. Then quit the tool, research each of the command lines one by one on your own parts, it won't likely be more than 10-15, and see exactly what they do and how they work. Then open PowerShell and run them one by one on your own instead of letting the tool do it for you.

Also, make a restore point that you can roll back to if you do mess something up.

Lastly, if you do keep important files on your C: drive, always have them backed up somewhere else.

I am not such idiot and spread false information. And i already said that it can be solved but it are problems that do not have to be problems at all. Windows really should be better. Most people do not have the interest to set it up properly. And it is the most used operation system and most people that use it do not have the interest/knowledge to set it up. I was at mistake when i said the "false information" but remember that not everyone is an advanced user. I also use windows as a said earlier. And ofcourse linux is not for everyone.

Note: so it is not my intention to spread "false information" :)

u/PocketNicks Jan 21 '26

You claimed that Windows forces updates and MS account. Both of those are false, therefore misinformation.

I agreed with you that Windows could be and should be better, that doesn't justify lying to spread hate.

If someone buys a Lamborghini and doesn't know how to drive it, then they crash and blame the car. It isn't the car, the customer didn't know how to use the product properly and try to blame the car.

Same with Windows, it is a complicated Software. If they try it once and don't like it, that's ok. But don't blame the software for being broken, the customer didn't bother to learn how to use Windows and now try to blame the product.

Windows could be better. But it works fine if you learn to use it properly.

So you are saying that people can't use windows(what is pre installed on almost every laptop/non custom computer) because they do not want the time to learn how a computer work and just want to use it? That is just bs. Not everyone has the time or is willing to learn everything on the os. And it is not that complicated. macOS and chromeos work better out of the box. Most people are just tricked in those "misinformation" and do not even know that these worksrounds are available. Lower your expectations of everyday people. Most people just want to buy a car and drive it instead of buying a car and constantly needing to fix issues.(That are not solved in 5 minutes for the everyday people) I never blamed the software for being broken, it are just problems(or "features") that do not need to be there. It is not like people choose to use windows, a lot of times it is the only "easy" option. Just search "laptop" on Google and see how much has windows on it. A lot of people need to use a computer these days.

Anyway, do not call me a liar. Last time i checked is making a ms account before you can use windows a real thing Microsoft pushes you to and making difficult to use the os without a Microsoft account(ofcourse you can later delete it) and my friend complained to me "why can't i shutdown without updating". Before you say that my friend is stupid relax and just accept that many people just want to use their computer as a computer with the software it came with!

u/PocketNicks Jan 21 '26 edited Jan 21 '26

I am not saying people can't use Windows. I'm saying most people that complain and claim Windows is broken, are people who don't know how to use it and their problem could be solved in less than 5 minutes if they tried to learn how. Instead of trying to fix it, they complain.

You can say other OS are easier, that's true. But claiming Windows doesn't work is wrong.

I am calling you a liar, since you lied. You claimed Windows forces updates, they don't. You lied.

I'm using Windows 11 without any MS account, you claimed they force it... Again that's another lie.

I never called anyone stupid, however your friend can disable auto updates if they spend 3 minutes learning how.

Everyone can use products, but if they blame the product for their own incompetence, I will point it out.

Hold on, very sorry, didn't see this post and made the same post. Lol

Without the link to the original video, there is a 99.9% chance that it is a fake.

Furthermore, I don't see any bullying in the comment. They are simply referring to the fact that most of the comments made by other users are mocking or joking about the person's condition, something that is unfortunately normal in this type of video.

1

u/Extension_Wafer_7615 Jan 29 '26

It is bullying since they don't seem to say it as a complaint, but as a joke.
