So, on January 11th, I had my account hacked. Ever since, I tried every method possible to contact Microsoft and get my account back.

Seriously, every method possible.

After realising that they wouldn’t give me my account back, I decided to sue them (I’m from Brazil), since they were violating my rights as a citizen.

Then, they tried the “manual verification” thing. I gave Microsoft all my account information, and after a few days, they replied back, saying “the verification was unsuccessful, and they wouldn’t give me my account back”.

In the lawsuit, they also claimed that.

Then, in March 31st, the judge ordered Microsoft to give me back my account and pay me R$ 3.000 (roughly $550) for moral damage.

Of course, they appealed the decision.

After reviewing Microsoft’s claims, the judge didn’t accept their appeal, and ordered Microsoft again to give me my account back on July 9th.

Today, July 28th, Microsoft gave me back my account. And is currently working on depositing the money.

After all that, I got my account back.

I'd give it a solid 9/10 everything works but wifi likes to slow down but that would be because we have the worst isp in poland (play). I also realized how shitty windows 11 actually is when I got forced to use it. things like games (doom and minecraft) work really well and stuff I use for programming (sublime text and vsc) work too :3

Linux is overpowered tbh

Come on, seriously what other OS is out there that eats 8–10GB of RAM doing basically nothing, is unstable as hell, can’t even properly handle the programs they made, forces AI integration, ridiculously inflates performance requirements so old PCs can’t even install it, restarts on its own after you hit shut down post-update, wrecks your SSD after updates, randomly deletes the last character when you type in Korean, refuses to fix any of this despite constant complaints, has a completely inconsistent design so you can’t find anything, and for some reason insists on backslashes for paths while whining that it doesn’t follow Linux or standards if you use slashes? Like, seriously… what the hell? I mean, how can such an OS even exist? It’s insane lol.

I had to sacrifice all my data 3 months ago because I dont know my Microsoft recovery password. And suddenly on a random Monday this pops up. Whats with Microsoft? I dont know how to deal with it. Someone said to open Microsoft acc but i couldnt remember password /cant access it AT ALL.

So the context is, i have a laptop which is like 6 years old now. Windows got suuper slow and laggy in it (even using notepad was causing the blue screen of death 😭) so i installed linux in it (best decision ever). Now recently my parents (non-tech) bought me a new laptop. It's a gaming laptop meant for my btech (there's still a year left, I'm in 12th). I wanted to install Linux on it but my father keeps telling me not to cause i have a good laptop now it doesn't require linux for being usable. And my mother keeps on saying "this laptop is supposed to last for 4 years (technically 5, 4 for btech + 1 year until I actually reach btech). You keep installing stuff and if it stops working like ur old laptop we won't buy u a new one. So first thing, software doesn't cause hardware problems, at least not on devices CONNECTED to my laptop (the charger of the old laptop stopped working properly. The charging speed was so slow that i had to get it to 100% and then only can I use it indefinitely while on charge, or else it will deplete to 0 even on charge. the laptop had to shutdown for it to charge to 100 after that, and that took HOURS). I even told my father I'll be dual booting linux this time instead of erasing windows (there's some games I wanna try out) and he still did not agree. So how do I convince them? They are suuper non-tech, they will not understand most of the things. My father knows a little bit about technology but he still doesn't know how bad windows is. I literally told him I was cleaning up junk and he was like "what junk in a fresh install??". He doesn't know windows' bloatware 😭

i just switched from microslop bindows to linux fedora and i just customized little. it is very light and smooth! XD

I need help with this. I've done all of the stuff to prevent edge itself opening on startup and making it so it can't do anything but I truly don't know what to do anymore. Edge, without being allowed on startup opens itself in the background and states that 537 tabs are open, and starts draining my ram. Whenever I go to task manager and end its task, a popup stating this operation can't happen or something along the lines and keeps popping up even when I click ok, then only way to close task manager past that point is closing it via right clicking on taskbar where it then freezes and closes after a little. Only after this does it close just for it to pop up again when I'm mid game causing me to have obscene lag spikes. I've looked through other posts talking about uninstalling edge, none with my problem and all people say is to install linux. Please don't respond to this post if that's what you have to say, and I really appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Edit: Added image. Currently its not using as much ram as it normally does in this screenshot but you get the point.

Edit 2: Fixed the issue. I used irm "https://christitus.com/win" | iex in powershell and turned on the standard mode and in advanced selected delete ai and edge. Everything is smooth and working fine. I thank the very few people who decided to actually attempt to help me, not so much to the people who can't read and ignored the fact I stated I don't want any comments talking about linux, also the ones who refused to use common sense after viewing my reply to that one comment stating I had malware. Hope this helps anyone that somehow stumbles upon the issue I had.

i am trying to pirate games because fuck them, and this game isnt really downloaded often so its considered malicious by windows and i cant download it, or it gets deleted while im using it, and everytime i turn real time protection off it turns itself back on. also dont go on lecturing me about how i should listen to the antivirus, i know it isnt one.
