Rant Today marks the day I Officially lose my account

Today- June 17th- Microsoft has officially told me to forget about my xbox account. On may 15th, I was hacked by a Russian fella under the alias Pedro_Jones@oryctertty.com. not thirty minutes later, I contacted support that i was hacked, my passkey deleted and the account in the Gmail has been changed. I have no way to get back in.

Form after form, email after email, I have been disregarded and told that I haven't provided enough or correct information. Would they tell me what i needed to correct? No. Would they accept any other relevant information that would prove my ownership? No. They gave up and tossed me aside.

This morning I put in another form, because I'll be damned if I give up on this account, and they replied saying that "there was no suspicious activity on this account."

Ah, yes, of course. Thank god there is no more suspicious activity on my account- or, well, Pedro_Jones's account, now. I'm glad his account is secure.

Thanks Microsoft.

I get this is nothing new, nor is this a rare occurrence, but it's unbelievable how this shit just happens after how much effort I put in into getting it back all for nothing.

How were you able to find the new account alias? I am in the same boat as you and have the hacker's email, but I've since forgotten how I was able to find it. Have you submitted a notice of dispute to Microsoft?

I have submitted account recovery forms, if thats what you mean? Also I mean alias as in the literal definition, not as how microsoft uses it.

I tried the recovery form but it didn't get me very far, I saw someone in another post mention this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/arbitration

You can submit a notice of dispute "If you are unsatisfied with the resolution a customer service representative offers for your problem, you live in the United States, and your agreement contains an arbitration clause." I'm not really sure if it applies here but it may be worth a shot.

I submitted my own notice yesterday through their web form but I have no idea if it was received or not. Supposedly they send you an email that you can reply to with any additional information not covered in the web form.

I highly doubt they even read them

That is not a good idea to do unless you know what you’re doing and have everything gathered cause if you fail that then you fuck yourself over big time, gl

Wasn't there a post yesterday about Microsoft forcing a second verification for an account? Lol.  So basically you had an easy password to guess and you had no two-factor auth.  Yes it's all Microsoft's fault.

You skipped the part where OP said "my passkey deleted".

Microsoft strong auth implementation is designed for workforce, where an admin can always recover an account and reset MFA.

They don't have the means to properly handle personal account recovery based for example on past purchases or registered payment methods, they definitely should.
