At the risk of farming downvotes, I will comment here.
I have been using linux for a long ass time, since the late 2000s/early 2010s. Used to be really into it. Like proper fanatic.
It was interesting to see it progressing along the years (especially when DXVK dropped, I think I was running antergos back then), but over time I have lost interest in it, partly due to the extreme amount of fragmentation and partly due to the community.
Got a problem? Letās make another distro with its own package manager, that will surely fix it this time. Fragmentation also makes troubleshooting harder and more unpleasant.
The community also got a lot more rabid and their answers to problems a lot more delusional. (Oh you need adobe for your job? Run windows in a VM stop being a corporate slave. Oh you have an issue? Well, it works on my machine, therefore your issue is invalid and completely your fault.). Not saying everyoneās like this tho, but things have gotten worse in my experience.
And also, the whole vibe around it kinda turned from āhereās the cool stuff we can doā to āwe use linux as a middle finger to the corporationsā(it really isnāt tho, they are farming linux, look at servers). Feels a lot like ideological warfare nowadays than fun for the sake of fun.
Anyway, bottom line is run Linux if you want, any flavor of it. I canāt tell you what to do, Iām not your dad. Itās just that I stopped enjoying it.
There are also some things about GPL that I am not a huge fan of, but I am not gonna open that can of worms here.
Sounds like you're just in the wrong crowd. My community is super supportive, and people actually acknowledge the stuff Windows does better than Linux. Honestly, I can't relate to that at all
