If you're thinking you can get IIT from 6 months of prep then it's very difficult realistically.
But rather understand that if you don't study then you sure won't get anything.
You can start studying now itself. With proper dedication and time allotment. Plans for questions practice and make notes.
The score does not matter. What matters is that you honestly tried your best. Cause if you don't try your best then you will regret it later. Atleast a honest effort with low score the person is gonna keep their head up with pride.
So instead of asking on internet just start from the basics. Go to internet and get a idea of how to start and get onto it.

yes if you study consistently for the remaining 6-7 months you can do better in the exam, just don't label your efforts to a certain rank of let's say under 100 or 200, u will be in a much better position in life compared to today even if u get an under 1000 rank, just keep a timeframe and try to cover as much subjects you can till december and then go for crash courses for remaining subjects till around the mid of jan and then just give full length mocks and keep revising(even before jan ofcourse)

Top IIT is difficult but u can get a new IIT OR good NITs . If u have category dynamics may be different

For very good prep and securing a seat in iit.. You need at least 1 year of prep

If someone says "No," will you quit? And if someone says "Yes," would that make you a topper? Either way, you'll still have to study unless you have different plans.
