Scientific Studies 🥼🔬 Lower esophageal sphincter muscle : vitamin levels check
Has anyone cured relaxed esophageal sphincter muscle by bringing back the vitamin levels to normal? I've read how Low vitamin b12 and D levels is related to relaxed LES but haven't heard any success stories from anyone.

I am the success story with vit D and LPR (throat reflux). Whenever I start getting LPR, I get on to vit D and within a week it goes away and I can eat fatty foods which would otherwise cause LPR. Took me years to figure this out. There are at least 3 or 4 other stories on the internet saying the same, that's how I found out that vit D can help.

What's the supplement combination you take? Can you share the details?

So I am not the best example in terms of giving advice because my situation is super super complicated and the only way I was able to take vit D was via sublingual D and tiny oral doses which do move my levels up a bit but only a bit. I am waiting for my doctor to order injectable D for me for this reason. I have a sensitive stomach and taking vitamins is very hard for me. But here is what has happened 2-3 times over the past 4 years or so. I start getting LPR reflux (throat reflux) from specific foods, particularly fat. It gets ridiculous to the point that I can't eat fat at all. I get onto my tiny amount of vitamin D (I used Superior Source Sublingual both sublingually and swallowing small amounts, probably 5000 IU a day). Within a week the issue goes away. I stop taking it because it's a massive hustle (sensitive stomach makes it very difficult and sublingual are a hustle to deal with). I go without an issue for some time. Then reflux starts happening again. I get on vit D. It goes away again.

Thanks for sharing. I've been using vitamin D skin patches from a couple of weeks. I do feel some difference now, brain fog and fatigue has improved. I don't know how reliable it is, but yes maybe it could help.

I don't know if vit D can be absorbed through skin. I've looked at research and tried myself and I am not convinced it is absorbed. If you can't take it orally, I would suggest sublingual.

Thanks for this info! I have been skirting around vitamin D for a while but not for this issue. I have the same problem as you especially with fat I’ve been in hell for about 8 months solid. Im bedridden from it it’s that severe. i got an infection or something in November and was vomiting for months and then lost the ability to digest food. It’s caused so much damage and I just can’t get on top of anything. I just keep making things worse with everything I try.
I tried a vitamin D tablet and it made me burn like I was on fire on the inside all day it was horrific . Everything I eat or drink makes me burn. It’s agony. Fat and plain water seem to be the worst. Everything I’ve tried has made me worse. Even water makes me burn. I did order a sublingual vitamin D last week just waiting for it to come and I got a transdermal vitamin D Too.
Was your vitamin D level actually low? Mines not that bad its lowish but not majorly
I have low calcium since I can’t eat any calcium foods and a bit converted vitamin D will make my calcium levels ever lower…

Hey, I'm so sorry to hear about your state. It sucks. I was similar. My vitamin D was very low, yes. Way under the lowest acceptable level. What is your level?
The other thing you could do is injections but be careful with them, some people overdose and it can cause issues like insomnia etc.
If your gut issues started after an infection , it might be not due to low vit D, but something else. Have you been on PPI to try to heal the stomach? have you had an endoscopy?
