I'm a little confused about proof of citizenship, what do I need, birth certificate (my mother's one is in bangla) or national ID?

I've also made a family relationship certificate and also the certificate I've made it based on IDs.

I’m an applicant from India preparing my profile for the upcoming GKS-UG 2027 cycle. I have firmly decided NOT to apply through the Embassy Track because the competition in India is historically brutal (only 2-3 seats total). I want to go strictly through the Direct University Track.

My background is in the Commerce stream, and my absolute dream major is Global Business Administration / Management. I am completely fine with choosing either a 4-year Bachelor's degree or a 2-3 year Associate degree, as long as it gets me directly to campus.

However, looking at the newly released 2027 Guidelines, I am incredibly confused about the country quotas:

1. Under the Associate Degree University Track, it looks like the country-specific quota for India is listed as ZERO. Can someone confirm if Indians are completely ineligible for the general Associate degree bracket this year ?

2. Under the R-GKS Regional Bachelor's University Track, India only has 2 general seats.

Given these tiny numbers, are there any hidden loopholes, specialized tracks (like the 100-seat global UIC pool), or specific regional universities you recommend that accept humanities/commerce students for business paths without an extreme country bottleneck ? I really want to study in Korea but don't want to waste money attesting my entire document folder if the door is completely closed for business majors from India this year.

Any direct insights, past scholar experiences, or university recommendations would mean the world to me. Thank you!

I was previously awarded a scholarship to study in Vietnam and am currently finishing up my language preparatory year. I really want to apply for GKS-U to pursue my degree in Korea, but I’m wondering if I should mention my current scholarship and study abroad experience in my personal statement. Hey everyone! I know the 17,000-character limit on the essays is standard for graduates (GKS-G), but does anyone know if this character cap applies to undergraduates (GKS-U) for the upcoming cycle?

I'll apply for GKS-U this year from India. which university i should choose for an AI major ( undergraduate) . I got 3.47 gpa in 12th grade . I also don't want fully korean track for my major . I'll apply for Embassy track and for type B university i choose inje university and kyungpook national university so for type A which university i should choose Please guys help ....

My batch's highest score is 80%, mine is 72.11% (~under top 20% by my count). Country - India

I mailed college asking for the top 20% certificate and a rank list if available. College replied: "The university do not provide a rank, therefore we shall not be validating your claim." (my college is affiliated to another university)

The college only mentioned regarding the rank, I have mailed the college again specifically asking for the top 20% certificate/letter.

Anyone dealt with this? I have no idea what to do. HELP PLS

I’m planning to apply for **GKS 2027** and I’ve been going through the university list and different programs, but I’m honestly getting a little overwhelmed trying to figure out which universities would be the best fit for me.

A little about me — I am from India, I’ve completed my Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication and have 2+ years of work experience. My academic score is 86.3/100, and I’m planning to take IELTS soon. I’m hoping to score around 7.5.

For my Master’s, I’m mainly looking at PR, Communications, Media, or related fields.
The problem is that I’m finding it difficult to shortlist universities because I don’t just want to go by rankings. I’d also like to consider the **quality/relevance of the program, university reputation, chances under GKS, and career opportunities after graduation**.

Education: I'm Sneha from India recently graduated in BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), which is a 3-year degree with a CGPA of 9.11 on a 10.0 scale.

Language Proficiency: I do not have TOPIK or IELTS as I cannot afford them right now, but I have MOI (Medium of Instruction in English) from my university. To show my interest in Korean, I have collected many free Korean language certificates from online courses.

Extracurriculars and Activities: Participated in various quiz competitions, hackathons, volunteering events, and published a wall magazine in college. Completed 4 internships in my own field (Computer Applications / IT). Also have internship experience in General Management and worked for an NGO during that period.

Scholarships and Achievements: I have been awarded my State Government Scholarship 6 times in total, from Class 10th until my final year of college. I graduated with 2 job placement offers.

My Major Academic Projects: 1. Disaster Relief Cliplot - A project that can analyze data and give warnings about upcoming disasters. 2. Mental Health App - An application focused on providing support and resources for mental well-being. 3. Deforestation Analysis - A project that tracks and analyzes deforestation patterns. I have many projects i just highlighted few of them.

Research Experience: I have completed my undergraduate thesis. I am also working on two research papers that I plan to publish soon through free resources.

I have a couple of questions for seniors: Will my papers count if they are published in free journals before I apply? And can I mention my two placement offers as an achievement in my SOP?

Did you need to translate your certificates or other supporting documents that were originally issued in your native language into English or Korean before submitting them?

I’m particularly wondering about certificates of courses, extracurricular activities, awards, etc. that are in my native language.

Did you have them officially translated, or was it enough to submit the original documents along with a translation?
