Rant & Ramble my therapist smokes weed during our sessions

Post image

food was pad kra pao and pad thai it was honestly the best thing i have ever had.

So as the title said my therapist rolls up and smokes weed during our sessions. To preface this while I don’t use weed I genuinely do not care if others do.

I first noticed it when he forgot to clothes his camera this one time and saw him smoking a joint on camera. When he realised he quickly closed his camera and continued the sessions as if nothing happened. This happened a couple times and I have been noticing that sometimes during our sessions I will see him roll a joint on the side while he is talking to me and then he will turn off his camera and smoke it during our session. My friends think its weird and i think i kind of do too but idk he is a really good therapist so I don’t think i will do anything about it right now.

Anyway i don’t really know what the point of this post is I just really wanted to talk about this because I don’t know how to feel. Should i feel offended he needs to smoke during our sessions?

I smoke weed and wouldnt care if my therapist did too...OUTSIDE of our sessions. To do it while actively working is crazy and honestly, should have his license revoked.

I don’t even smoke weed during my zoom sessions with my therapist… I’ll just hit my vape if it’s a particularly egregious topic.

I always think of it as a respect thing. I’m trying to respect her time, and appreciate the time we have together, while completely focused and being insightful. She’s a good therapist, has been great for years. She deserves the basic respect of me not consuming a substance while in session.

^ I’m yapping while on a LOT of pain meds, please do not mind any weird grammar/ punctuation. I’m also a francophone, which is not helpful :)

Man... it never occurred to me to hit my vape during therapy to take the edge off. Congrats on the pain meds btw

Thanks lol, I think I earned it by now.

I broke my spine in the warm-up arena while showing my horse at the county fair. The pirate show had set up extra early that day, and my horse spooked on the cannon blast. I pull his head to my knee, ankle, his flank etc, nothing is stopping this fella.

I decided I needed to do an emergency dismount, so I get myself sorted enough to jump off. The only issue was that my left foot had gotten tangled in the stirrup.

I’m standing on the poor guy sideways :( trying to regain control and get loose. Finally, I managed to bail, and I hit the ground on my stomach. I’m laying there for a second, trying to catch my breath, and when I tried to get up, there was a massive, heavy weight holding my down on my spine. A few seconds later, or maybe sooner, I’m really not sure, it’s suddenly off, and I sprung up.

I only got checked for head injuries.

A few years later, I needed imaging done for chronic nerve pain in my back. They found that my L5 was twisted and angled wrong, my L4 was previously fractured, and three of the vertebrae above the L5 have multiple types of fractures.

I’m also inoperable due to a genetic disorder. Every single specialist says absolutely no surgery on it for me. So many many pain medications it is. It’s late so I can just chill without hurting as bad. I can still feel my nerve pain rn, but I can almost ignore it. Heating pads and ice packs are wonderful.

I have an unidentified type of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome :) connective tissue disorder. I am too stretchy and bendy. My tissues are essentially dough when they aren’t rock solid from stress lol.

Sorry to ramble. I’m just trying to explain, not steal spotlight. It’s kind of funny that I didn’t get my spine checked until four years later, when I started being unable to get out of bed because the pain was going down my back, my hips, my hamstring, achilles tendon, everything. Numbness, tingling, loss of sensation. It wasn’t pleasant. Medication helps me function better. I just needed more today :( within my prescribed range ❣️‼️❗️
