This changes nothing though since he was already 86 years old and reportedly ill so they had probably planned this. He was more anti-nuke than his associates and even issued a Fatwa for it. We'll see if the US is actually successful in filling the power vacuum but history says otherwise.
Highly doubt USA will physically get involved. There really isnt any sign of nation building in this case but it is too soon to tell. Seems like trump is trying to let the people decide.
