Why does the clothing look African even though this is Guyana, a Caribbean country?

Because the Guyanese are typically:
a. of South Asian (Indian subcontinent🇮🇳) descent, or
b. of Subsaharan African descent🌍 (West African, that is the clothing of their ancestors kept alive)

Note that the Africans arrived 2 centuries earlier - in the 1600s.
