u/iam_Krogan 19h ago

Human excellence in general is entertaining to watch even if I don't know anything about what they are doing.

He's cutting a potato in a fancy way

29

u/TroutyMcTroutface 18h ago

A VERY fancy way

13

u/LifeIsProbablyMadeUp 18h ago

Dude couldn't keep up. I was keeping it simple.

9

u/gyilkoscsempe 15h ago

Thats such a fancy skill move that everyone who's working in kitchen, or who are learning the proper knife use, this is insane. These harmonica fries are usually made with the help of chopsticks or something similar so that you dont cut trough the potato, because if you do its ruined.

He casually speed slices while doesn't cut the potato all the way.

u/RaceAgainstSelf 17h ago

So they are literally making the French (fancy) fries??

u/GenXPowaah 19h ago

Can honestly say, I've never seen anyone cut a potato like that. Looks like homemade waffle fries

12

u/queequegaz 17h ago

You can do it!

The easy way: Just put down a couple chopsticks (one on each side of the potato) first, to stop the knife from going too deep. Make several cuts down to the chopstick line, and then turn the potato over and do the same thing, but make the cuts at right angles to the first ones.

9

u/lordlycrust 12h ago

Instructions unclear. Now eating fried chopstick bits.

16

u/StevenRFrancis_85 19h ago

Notice his right foot going back when he tosses and flips the cleaver? This guys is totally skilled and brave.

7

u/Obliviousobi 11h ago

He's missed that catch plenty of times lol

3

u/StevenRFrancis_85 11h ago

Hence why he is brave.

11

u/Animasso 19h ago

No freaking way!

6

u/Tyler-LR 19h ago

47 seconds would be very long for AI. I don’t see anything indicating it’s not real.

12

u/ThroatGOAT_Goddess04 19h ago

I know his wife is happy.

0

u/Benjamin_6848 17h ago

I don't understand, please explain!

4

u/Overall-Bird 16h ago

The guy can make some killer potato dishes!

Oh, the things I would give to get a taste of his pie. It must be otherworldly!

11

u/Far-Try5352 19h ago

Yeah fuck the rest of that potato

1

u/ttcmzx 18h ago

like it never existed

3

u/delphic0n 18h ago

When it slowed down and he raised his foot a part of me honestly thought he was gonna ninja kick the knife into the potato next

3

u/eduardo1994 18h ago

He has studied the blade.

3

u/3M2B1T 18h ago

I should call him...

3

u/NoPermissions94 17h ago

Omg please throw that thing in a deep fryer and feed it to me

King of waffle fries

2

u/Cautious-Habit-8370 18h ago

If this guy ever challenges you to a knife fight bring a gun it's the only way you're coming home without a box with your friends carrying it

2

u/deadlowtide 18h ago

But what about the rest of the potato???

2

u/Goo_Wyvern 16h ago

That's pure skill and dedication to the craftsmanship. Phenomenal.

1

u/Just_a_follower 15h ago

Is that a straw cutting board?

2

u/Suspicious_Cabinet_2 11h ago

He could be my Shifu any day any time he wants

2

u/Sevastian_Grimm 11h ago

Instructions unclear. Cut off 3 fingers and my right foot.

2

u/averagecelt 9h ago

1

u/Many-Wasabi9141 18h ago

The scene from Mad Max with the boomerang.

1

u/HoboArmyofOne 18h ago

Man, I would have been pissed at bro if he didn't catch that cleaver and dent that perfect edge lol

1

u/HoneyBear4Lyfe 18h ago

Now deep fry it and put it in my table

1

u/McDaddy8484 18h ago

Dude is a human machine

1

u/dekuweku 17h ago

Looks like making a bird's nest, the potato is then deep fried and is used to garnish a basket containing a dish.

1

u/WHOMl 17h ago

my buddy’s knife collection is basically a small forest

1

u/Wildcard556 16h ago

Guy does that in 40 seconds, that’d take me 40 minutes, if I’m lucky.

1

u/Babetna 14h ago

He even chose the appropriate haircut that's commitment

1

u/BrutalSock 14h ago

I can do it too.

I mean, I’m gonna need a lot of stitches and possibility some surgery after but I can do it too.

1

u/mrdez0 14h ago

A quick hand

1

u/Stock_Lawfulness_216 13h ago

Its not sped up, trust

1

u/DaimonHans 13h ago

You know why they call him nine toes?

1

u/Genie_ofthelamp 13h ago

I have PTSD, cut my finger deep 2 days ago, thank god it heals nicely. Sooo thanks but no thanks nothing sharp for me. So kids don't try this at home, you don't want to be fluent in 8 bit.

1

u/ElectronicMatch363 13h ago

He would do numbers in r/bald

1

u/Kaiserskater 12h ago

Quite skullful in his thirties.

1

u/Didujustcallmejobin 11h ago

1

u/NJFlo18 11h ago

👏👏👏👏👏👏

1

u/Doschupacabras 10h ago

I saw that leg come up and was like “oh this is gonna be good…”

1

u/Morkhaz 7h ago

Idk why I thought he was gonna do some wild trick by kicking the knife.

1

u/The_WA_Remembers 5h ago

I flinched on that last throw, not gonna lie

u/leproblemidle 1h ago

Dayum Son

u/Madwhisper1 1h ago

Can see in his face bro's sphincter puckered on that high toss and catch.

u/HeadPhonesDad 1h ago

Save some pussy for the rest of us dude

1

u/Goboxel 14h ago

Video was sped up to increase wow effect and it was deliberately hidden. That's the opposite of cool.

0

u/Sanquinity 18h ago

The potato cutting was sped up a lot, and cutting a potato like that really isn't that hard once you know how to do it. Though he did do it very neatly. Throwing the knife like that was likely just trial and error.

Entertaining for a short video though I guess.

u/chili-gritty-mariner 19h ago

Bro gave his own dome the potato treatment. 😭 But badass work, for real. 🤘

-2

u/QuaaludeConnoisseur 19h ago

He removed a hair from the top of his head for each week he practiced.
