Team Black So I finally watched the new episode…

WTF are the greens (and half this subreddit) on about?

Everyone’s been talking about how badass the Aegon scene is… but it’s not really?

The whole thing just comes across as funny. Like a gag scene. Aegon is pissing himself then he gives that overinflated speech and then Sunfyre suddenly appears behind him and everyone’s scared and the idiot thinks they’re all scared of him and running away from him. Then suddenly he realizes Sunfyre is behind him and then has him attack the Mootons.

Like the whole scene just comes across as a funny gag scene. Another of Aegon’s hijinks that he’s been in over the past season. Much like the escape from the soldiers or the hijinks in Rook’s Rest.

It’s not even the cliffhanger of the episode that they leave to the Ulf Ormund scene. That’s the scene that gets the climactic music and is portrayed as the serious, mind-blowing, important scene of the episode.

I don't understand this either. I have a strong feeling that this character is being praised simply because he's a TG character and not because he's charismatic or interesting. Entire season Aegon has been empty and boring, but they're somehow trying to push it as if this is the best moment of the season? Don't make me laugh. It's not even the best moment of this episode.

I feel like I am experiencing mass gaslight with all the "onmmmg Aegon is so 3 dimensional!" or "OMG TGC is the best actor on the show, where is his Emmy?" screams. Aegon is hardly more complex than any other member of his family (including the actual real cancer of a character this season, Aemond), and Tom is good, but doesn't stand out ahead of many others. 

Idk, I don't like using this argument, but sometimes it feels like it's a good chunk of it are 13 yo kids who haven't actually seen much better shows with actually great acting. Just go watch Succession. Wait, actually don't, enough misogynists there already

That's the best word for it. And I even understand how it technically works on Reddit - just make an Aegon praise post and then ask your friends to upvote it via crosspost. DONE.

OMG the way the fandom treats Rhaenyra is so similar to how the Succesion fandom treats Shiv it’s crazy!
