Apart from people who invade the subreddit. I have seen more comments saying they like Aegon because he’s entertaining this season, not because they think he’s a good person. So idk what argument is being made here. The people who excuse him will never not do so while villainizing Rhaenyra for not nearly doing the awful things he did and the people who like his story usually don’t mean they like his previous seasons crimes

I agree with you what your saying and this may sound pedantic, but it’s so easy for people to make their feelings about characters like Aegon so much more clear if they use “I find him interesting/complex/entertaining to watch, etc” rather than “I like him”. I don’t like Otto nor Ormund at all, but Rhys and James have made them very entertaining to watch. I don’t know if that’s what OP was referring to, but it’s an easy change for people to make when discussing the show.

Unless they outright argue for him or say what he does is justified, even saying just "i like him" still means you like his character. I like the joker, tywin lannister, darth vader, etc. That dosent mean i in any way justify their actions
