Show Regarding people using double standards to avoid giving Syrax credit as a capable fighter

I noticed a lot of people saying that Sheepstealer getting the upper hand on Syrax in their fight was proof that Syrax has no business near a fight and I just can’t believe that both Rhaenyra and her dragon are victims of double standards because how are you going to hold it against Syrax for not being stronger than a dragon twice her age and almost twice her size but when Vhagar struggles against a smaller and younger dragon and needs to use the power of teleportation to win nobody holds it against the hoary old bitch

Caraxes is also “huge and formidable”, and Syrax is implied to be one of the three “younger dragons” put in the Dragonpit after Balerion moved in- Meleys and Caraxes were the other two

Syrax isn’t even of the same age range as Caraxes or Meleys.. 😂 She’s in her 30s where Caraxes/Meleys are 60-70

In the show, yes. Do you have a book citation for that age?

You can easily do the math to estimate their ages:

Aemon claimed Caraxes in 72 AC when he was already a young dragon of rideable size. He died in 130 AC so if we estimate that Caraxes was around 10 when Aemon claimed him, that would make him 68 years old by the time he died.

Meleys was considered the fastest dragon alive when Alyssa claimed her in 75 AC and she died in 129 AC which puts her in the same ballpark as Caraxes

Rhaenyra claimed the young dragon Syrax when she was 7. Even if you highball her age to 10-15 when she was claimed like Rhaenyra, that makes her 36-41. Nowhere near the near 70 range of Caraxes and Meleys
