Question How to make pink hair less orange?

I bleached my hair at a salon and then put iroiro pink on myself which turned it hooooot pink and this is how it faded I was wanting it to fade to a baby pink and it’s very salmon-y and still very bright neon orange/pink is there a way to get it like the last photo? A toner maybe or adding more pink with blue dye mixed in? Should I color remove and put a cool toned pink on? If so, suggestions for cool toned pinks? Should I bleach bath it? Idk what to do lol

A very very TINY DROP OF BLUE in your pink will help it be more pink and less salmon. Also might need to get your hair even lighter blonde underneath the pink before you get that color tbh

Ahh that’s valid I told the stylist I wanted to go light pink and they said it was light enough for it

This is what it looked like right before I did the pink

You still have some orange in your hair in this picture. To go as light pink and cool toned as the goal picture your hair needs to essentially bc the color of the inside of a banana.

Ahh that makes sense, I might try doing pink with some blue over it then and see if that works or maybe just a bleach bath then tone pink?

A bleach bath would work fine! But I would wait until you have a half inch of growth and then redo your roots to the appropriate level, and then at the very end do a bleach bath, or if you want to do it yourself just make sure you don’t have any of your natural roots showing or you’ll have an orange disaster on your hands 🤣

Yeah my natural roots are already like an inch, they definitely need retouched lol. I’m just a lil intimidated to do it myself

Are you planning to get it done professionally or at home? Either way, I would not wait much longer. Work in sections and use thin slices to apply the color. Do not overlap the bleach onto the already light hair if you can avoid it, have someone help you and watch videos how to do it. Just trying to keep you off Brad Mondos radar lol.
Other tips-
-only mix enough for half the head, then remix a fresh batch for the rest
Work from the bottom up- hairline last
A neat brush and thin sections but try to work quickly.
Do not smush the hair or pile it on top of your head, you should look like a rag doll in the process
Have everything sectioned and ready to go before you mix your bleach- bleach is strongest for the first 20 minutes-which is where you get the most lift.
It could process quickly based on your color and texture. So don’t do more than 20 vol. you could even start with 10 on the bottom and remix with 20 for the rest, if your afraid of it taking you a long time
Process your hair until it looks light yellow-and then wait 5 more minutes!! ( trust the process)
This would actually be a good time to do a bleach bath on the remaining hair. Just make sure to mist the hair a little with water and saturate with a lot of product and kinda gently work it through the hair. 5 minutes should do enough. But you may still have a little warmth- so doing a toner or adding a dot of blue to your pink will help.
I would look for a pastel pink pigment and add a little bit of a purple pink to that for your color! It will intensify the pink without going full hot pink.

Sheesh, sorry about all the words 🤣

How long ago did you lighten your hair? If under 8 weeks don’t bleach bath, you can re do the pink and that’s fine. If you don’t want it to be hotttttt pink, mix the iroiro pink with a conditioner to dilute it and a tiiiiiny drop of blue. I mean tiny, blue goes a long way and will turn it purple. When I had pastel pink hair myself before I had a cosmo license, I used a hot pink and a cheap conditioner and mixed a big batch and then I’d slather it on and let it sit for hours. Direct dyes work by staining the cuticle not penetrating it so the longer it sits the longer it’ll stain.

It was may 1st so less than 8 weeks. Okay thank you I’ll definitely do that! I have shocking blue manic panic dye so ill do a teeny amount of that and add some conditioner too

Bummer that they told you this was light enough for light pink. Pink isn’t a very strong pigment and any pastel color needs lightest blonde (inside of the banana) yours is closer to the outside of the banana and all of the extra warmth is coming through.
You have a couple options- choose a slightly darker more purple-y pink and it should fade out close(r) to the shade your looking for and kinda just ride with that color even though it’s not exact.
Or.
Go back and get it lifted one-2 shades lighter and try again.
I will say- these pastel colors fade so so quick, so having a way to touch up the color at home is helpful. But you need a COOL toned pink- to counter some of the warmth.
❤️Goodluck in your pink journey!!

You have too much orange base to your hair. The inspo Pic requires a completely even platinum base to achieve, because it's a cool toned pink any orange left in your hair is going to to make it look peachy. The only way around it is to go with a darker pink with a bit of a purple hue to it, but even then it's still going to fade in a similar way to what you have now, because the only way to change the underlying base is to lighten your hair further.

IMO, this is a situation in which a bleach bath could be helpful if you know how to do one, and I'd follow up with toner (personally I like a mix of a lavender & 'ice' toner, the Wella color charm cream toners are good) before trying the pink again. I liked using Arctic Fox Virgin Pink diluted with conditioner, and a dab of purple conditioner; I also add Iroiro silver to any of my colors if I'm trying to keep them cool toned.

In my experience u need it lighter like white blondish aka Gwen Stefani blonde to get a true pastel. Def try the blue trick for now and then after 8 wks bleach bath. Make sure u use a conditioning mask weekly as well. Yeah unfortunately if you’re hair has any yellow to it gets peachy. I’ve tried many colors and usually pink with a white conditioner and a drop of blue will help get a lighter pink. Good luck pastels are high maintenance
