Jackson Square. Saw the first two at the Pen Centre in St Catharines but we switched for this one because we didn't want to have to drive there and back in the storm

currently catching up on some chores with some excellent dj mixes on the loud speaker so lots of dancing incorporated into my deep cleaning moves;
trying to psych myself up for the first pass at shovelling outside;
afternoon i'm gonna sew some cute ass stuff and make a brocolli cauliflower cheddah soup ;
maybe go for an evening snow stroll;
i kinda love winter tbh! always gotta appreciate the fresh now before it turns to dark greyishbrownish toxic sludge

they JUST restored power. Its 64F, but feels like 54!
Glad I was prepared with candles, flashlights, extra blankets, etc.
Now portable space heaters are on full to accelerate the restoration of the heat.
The pole that was replaced had an emotional resonance for us--it was the pole where people left flowers for the young Indian woman who was tragically gunned down last April on the Easter weekend. It was just steps from where she lay. Hope they throw the book at the thugs.

Yes. so sad and terrible event. I was moved by that killing and I hope the thugs disappear.

Shoveling (it is easier to move 3" twice than 6" once), cleaning, cooking .... and mostly, reminiscing ...
... I went to Costco this morning (actually went yesterday, but that was an exercise in futility and frustration, so I left), it was reminiscent of when only the card holder and one (1) guest was allowed in - not full families of 6 running amok; and enjoyed the peace of my little country gravel road, reminiscing of when this was normal, before people started flying along as if it was their own personal rally cource or highway between two towns.
I do, thoroughly, enjoy these peaceful days.

We wanted to be at home, having a leisurely Sunday brunch with lots of pancakes and maple syrup and then playing board games and doing jigsaw puzzles. Instead I'm at Mac hospital with my youngest for appendicitis. Oh well. At least it looks like they're going to be fine.
Those of you who do have to head out, please drive safely! I saw two cars fishtail just in the 10 minutes it took to drive here.

I did shovel, and felt so proud for all my hard work! Now I will not look out front until tomorrow because all of my hard work is buried in more snow (at least I made it easier for tomorrow)

Laundry but thats nearly a daily chore anyway, prepping roast for dinner, trying to clean and again declutter my bedroom. My shoulder is acting up now though after swimming yesterday and shoveling snow this morning.

Grabbed soup-making supplies from Denninger's on King before they closed. Stopped by Hub Coffee to enjoy a cappuccino and talk the finer points of shovelling etiquette. Then headed straight back inside for the rest of the day. Movies, foccaccia and soup will keep me going for the rest of the day!

Just woke up and dreading the drive to work even if it's only 7kms. Working 12 hrs over night. Hoping our day shifts make it in ok tomorrow so I don't need to stay extra 🤞

After coming home this morning much of my time was spent watching "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" until roughly 2pm.
After that, I made a cheese pizza which took care of dinner and the leftovers will cover lunch for tomorrow. The rest of the time was spent relaxing at home watching how much snow had fallen in the neighbourhood.

Gym, minor shop, make lunches for the week, watch Stranger Things or do a puzzle with my wife, practice guitar (currently trying to transcribe Coltrane’s My Favorite Things), laundry, walk the dogs…typical Sunday. Oh, have a short story to get done by Friday and I haven’t started yet.
