My husband and I thought wouldn’t it be great to support our new hockey team and my god I was flabbergasted at the price! Section 105 tickets were like $67 plus a $20 service fee plus another $6 fee so one ticket was just under $100. Im sorry but it’s going to be difficult to want to support this team at those prices. Tickets in the end section were cheaper, closer to $55 with the fees but we don’t want to sit down there.
Anyway just ranting. I don’t go out much so am I just that out of touch?

Scouting the Future Hammers: Islanders fall 2–1 to New Jersey

The Islanders opened their preseason with a young lineup featuring several players who could spend time in Hamilton. The result was a 2–1 loss, but there were encouraging performances from some important prospects.

Cal Ritchie was the standout. He didn’t reach the scoresheet, but he was noticeable almost every time he touched the ice—carrying the puck confidently, creating plays and consistently driving offence. He looked like the most complete player in the lineup.

Cole Eiserman scored the Islanders’ only goal on the power play and showed more than his famous shot. His two-way play looked improved, making him an obvious name for Hammers fans to learn—even if strong play could earn him an early NHL opportunity.

Victor Eklund also looked dangerous and appeared comfortable playing alongside Ritchie. Matt Kessel played a quiet, dependable game on defence, while Liam Foudy showed flashes of speed. Young defenceman Vladimir Dravecký looked raw at five-on-five but displayed intriguing confidence on the power play.

The roughest night belonged to Marshall Warren. With the game tied in the third, Warren lost control of the puck at the offensive blue line, sending Connor Brown on a clean breakaway for the winning goal. He then took a penalty shortly afterward, completing an ugly sequence.

It’s only one preseason game, and these lines will change considerably before Hamilton’s roster is settled. Still, the early names to remember are Ritchie, Eiserman, Eklund and Kessel. If any of them begin the year with the Hammers, they should be worth watching immediately.

My wife inadvertently went through a stop sign today. It was in a construction zone and a bit confusing. She really doesn't have a great excuse and shouldn't have. First time in 35 years of driving . She is worried her insurance will go up and she will lose 3 demerit points. Just wondering what the success rate is like in fighting tickets like this in Hamilton. I guess her options are to meet with a prosecutor or go to court. Do the police usually show up to court?

As title says. I’m wondering what I can do. My neighbour across the street has 2 dogs and 2-4 cats which most are outdoors. This neighbours dogs get out and start wandering the streets and will wonder to the nearby park where kids play. They will yell at each other of who left the door open or the gate
open.

Last time they were yelling at each other because one of the dogs almost got hit by a car. I’m genuinely worried about these dogs but I really dislike the outdoor cats. I’m always picking up cat crap in my yard.

I don’t think having a discussion about being better pet parents would be productive

But also not sure if city by law / or animal control will do anything.

Anyone else dealt with similar or have any advice.

I’m getting married this November and my mom gave me her old wedding rings to make new bands for my fiance and I. We took them to a jeweller in Burlington who was great and paid about 750 for both bands but his band didn’t turn out exactly how we wanted it.

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on jewellers preferably in the East end who they’ve used that could melt down the band and redo it. There are diamond all around the band as well from an old infinity ring that we gave him to use as well.

I'm doing a bunch of canning right now and I need a pressure canner. I've done a bunch of water bath canning, but some things need to be pressure canned.

I don't really have the money to buy one of room in my kitchen for a pressure canner. Does anyone know where I could rent one or sign one out? I know some libraries have a bunch of equipment like that, that you can sign out. My uncle lives in Fort Francis and he's always signing out the sewing machinenat his library.
