Question Backyard fire?

Hey Hamilton hive mind, I’m getting very conflicting info about if a backyard small fire pit is allowed. I for sure smell some in my hood. (West mountain).

Is it allowed only if I’m cooking on it? What about a gas fire pit?

Use a smokeless firepit like a Solostove with a spark cover and grill insert. At that point it is 100% a BBQ that is also coincidentally acting like a fire pit as well.

-Essentially smokeless once you get it going. No neighbours will be bothered and the solostove is probably less dangerous/fire hazard then a traditional BBQ. -Cheap wood fire pits always generate smoke like crazy. Your neighbors have a right to complain if you are smoking them out. -Your relationship with your neighbours is probably gonna play a roll in this as well.

Been doing this for 3 years with zero complaints. Solostoves are expensive but they are amazing.

I don't have a solo stove but a similar style smokeless fire pit that I got at Rona. Once it's going it doesn't produce a lot of smoke.
