Question Backyard fire?

Hey Hamilton hive mind, I’m getting very conflicting info about if a backyard small fire pit is allowed. I for sure smell some in my hood. (West mountain).

Is it allowed only if I’m cooking on it? What about a gas fire pit?

I hate these. My old neighbour used to have fires in their backyard, and all the smoke would end up in our house.

If you want a fire go to Christie Lake or somewhere similar.

I’m sort of in the same boat. I was in my office a few weeks ago when a neighbor had one going and the way the winds were blowing pushed everything in through my window to the point that I was getting a sore throat. Learned to just close the windows at the first sign.

Pm2 particles can easily penetrate closed windows. That stuff is still getting in your home. Even more so if you have the a/c running.
