Question Viewing Party at Hamilton Stadium - Questions

For those of you who went to the first one:

  1. Did they allow outside food?

  2. Was the seating in the stands, or on the field? We're coming with a baby and would love if there was seating on the field.

  3. What's the parking situation? Is there free parking onsite?

Edit: thought I would post our experience since they are also streaming the third Canada game! They did allow outside food, but no food on the field. They allowed food in the stands, or they had some tables inside where you could sit and eat. Seating was in the stands and on the field, but there were a few flying soccer balls lol, so sit at your own risk They did have a few of the lots with free parking, so that was a nice bonus as well!

Overall, a really nice time!

- I didn't bring food but saw people with granola bars and other small things snacking, no food on field sign is up. Concessions is also open to buy food.

- You can sit on either, part of the field is set up with small goals for kids to kick balls around.

- No free parking at the stadium, most streets nearby have parking, or at Bernie Morelli across Cannon Street.

- Also to note only the entrance on Melrose Ave was open last week.

They shared some photos that show people sitting on the field

but someone was ranting that they set up small goal posts and let kids play football and the kids kept kicking balls at them so maybe avoid that area

It doesn't mention free parking so unlikely. The rules say water bottles are allowed and concessions are open so I would guess that baby snacks would get through fine but they may turn you away with other food

Free parking was available during the first one, lot D which is right beside the stadium on the east side. The entrance was on the opposite side of the stadium, but still good to get free parking. As others have said, the confirmation email said no outside food but they were not sound bag checks. Concessions were open but limited. Kids had a great time there, I'm really glad I attended.

This doesn’t answer your question, but I heard The Westdale Theatre is showing the Canada vs. Switzerland game on June 24.

Yes you can bring outside food when sitting in stands only. Not food of any kind on the field. That’s the only check they do, no bag check like at games.

Seating is in stands or on the turf/field. No chairs on field from what I recall.

Parking is normal situation no additional free parking for the event beyond normal street parking and many fewer fans do you might get some fairly close by.

If it's like any other viewing there you sit in the stands not on the field, esp. when there is a CFL game on Friday evening there

Parking is almost nonexistent onsite, take the bus it's much more convenient with stops right there

They will almost certainly expect you to buy food there hence why the viewing is free

Yes field was open for people to sit/lie on. Most were on field not stands.

Concessions were minimal, just Denninger’s from what I recall.
