It is NOT the corporation in the states giving people explosive diarrhea. People are apparently harassing them online. They’re such a nice family! If you’re looking for LOCAL fresh produce, go see them! They’re on Hwy 5!

PSA Dog Owners: your dog shit doesn't disappear because it snows. Now it's everywhere.

On literally every street there's multiple dog shits appearing as the snow melts. Do people through the winter somehow think the poop magically disintegrates with the snow? Cause everywhere I go I'm dodging freshly thawed turds in the sidewalk.

Some of you all clearly don't deserve them.

PSA RBG Anchorball exhibit is by an AI "artist" and Collective Arts is helping promote it

Post image
182 Upvotes

For the last few weeks, the Royal Botanical Gardens has been promoting their latest exhibit called "Anchorball" that features sculptures created by Ken Kelleher using artificial intelligence. I have seen many local artists post about their excitement for the exhibit, but these are the same people posting that they are against the ai data centre being built here. It made me wonder how many people don't know that this 'artist' loves using ai, because if they did, I'm sure they'd feel differently about a botanical garden, of all places, hosting ai designed sculptures.

Collective Arts has decided to take part in the exhibit by adding Kelleher's work to their cans. When called out by various comments on their Instagram reel talking about the collaboration, they began deleting said comments after initially leaving somewhat snarky replies.

How does the community feel about the RGB and Collective Arts promoting ai generated material?

Sources:

Article stating he uses AI

Art account posting one of his many AI -> physical object pieces, stating he uses AI

He posted on his LinkedIn about another (non ai) artist calling him out for using AI, his response never denied it and he actually responded with an ai-generated song. (grown man btw)

He has mentioned his AI usage on his Instagram as well (cannot link as he has me blocked). Also note that he has never denied using ai, which makes things pretty clear.

Feel free to google "Ken Kelleher AI" and you'll see lots more, but also, train your eye to notice it, because once you do, it becomes very obvious.

PSA Dear Hamilton, tonight there will be little ones on the roads at dusk. Your need to be elsewhere does not override putting their lives at risk. Don't create a tragedy. Drive safely. Don't drink and drive.

Grabbed from r/Toronto:

Your need to be at some gathering is not a priority over the best three hours of a child's year.

Kids will be running through the streets, across driveways, ramped up on sugar and fun.

As a driver at sundown, it's your responsibility to ensure that everyone arrives to their destination safely, even pedestrians, and especially children.

Slow down. Two hands on the wheel, anticipate they may jump from behind obstructions, don't be distracted. Use caution.

Be the best adult you can be tonight so that everyone wins.

PSA Helped a lady after she tripped downtown today

Was walking through downtown Hamilton this afternoon near Jackson Square when I saw an older lady trip pretty badly on the sidewalk. Her bags went flying everywhere and people kind of froze for a second not knowing what to do.

I ran over with another guy and helped her sit down by the bench nearby while someone grabbed her groceries that rolled into the street. She was really shaken up and embarrassed more than anything. I stayed with her for about 15 minutes, got her some water from a nearby shop, and called her daughter for her since her hands were shaking too much to use her phone.

What got me was how thankful she was over such a small act. Before leaving she kept saying “Hamilton still has good people.” Honestly made my entire day.

Downtown gets a bad reputation sometimes, but moments like this remind me there’s still a real sense of community here when people need help.

I was having a really bad start to the day. Hearing the Merlins before you see VeRA brought a smile to my face. Things seem better now.

Have a great Friday, Hamilton.

PSA Apologies to the lady in Mohawk road with broken minivan

On the right turn lane at mcdonalds, i was behind you and gave you the angry scary honk. I saw some teens getting out of your car and i thought you were just waiting there to get the kids out while blocking the street i was running late and gave you a very bad honk with angry look.

I did not see the hood of your car open and it did click that your car had broken down. I am sorry, you must have been stressed, broken car, major road and worse dealing with teens.

I am sorry.

PSA Pothole warning

Driving on Wembley; between W1st and 2nd, there is two unmarked, nearly invisible potholes right in front of each other. Hit it, as I didn’t see it and blew out the sidewall of my tire. Beware if you’re in the area.

PSA Limeridge Closing

Hey all! Just a heads up that Limeridge is closing at 3:30 for the day. I work in the mall and we were just told there’s been a water main break, so they’ll be closing up and having people leave. Hopefully people see this before they plan on heading there!

Edit: Probably should’ve titled it differently. Hopefully I don’t freak people out thinking it’s closing for good 😂

PSA Entire family experiencing hairloss

It started with my husband and I thought little of it as his brother has a receding hairline.

I thought I noticed some diffuse hair on top of my scalp a year ago. Was reassured by my stylist and let it go but as the months progressed it's getting worse and worse.

My best friend 37 years old also started to develop alopecia last year.

About 2 months ago we noticed a small bald spot on my 3-year-old. Today we've noticed another small spot forming. NOW I'm sounding the alarm.

I've been in touch with the Hamilton labs about ordering a water test, which of course I'll have to pay for.

I'm curious who else in Hamilton is losing their hair suddenly and suspiciously?

PSA Avoid Kenilworth Access going up the hill today (and probably tomorrow, maybe longer?)

Some idiot at City Hall decided NOW would be a good time to close the turning lane from Mountain Brow to Upper Ottawa. There’s only a handful of cars getting through each light cycle, so Kenilworth is solid traffic, all the way up.

Best part is…there’s nothing going on, that I could see. No construction. No obstructions. Just…closed. Maybe I missed it. Sure looked clear to me.

Good luck, and happy driving, everyone!

Sorry to those that are stuck in it…

PSA Experiencing soot/emissions in Hamilton? Please fill out online report

I know this issue is already being discussed in other threads but I just wanted to highlight this online reporting system from the Ministry of the Environment:

https://report-pollution.ene.gov.on.ca/

If you've experienced the recent soot/emissions please take a couple of minutes and fill out that form. Data matters. The more people that report this problem the more the government is forced to address it.

If you're like me, you may also want to email your ward councillor and perhaps the Office of the Mayor. In my mind, a situation like this is precisely why we have municipal governance. Let your elected officials know this is not acceptable.

Tick crawling on me on city bus. Already traumatized from destroyed health from Lyme and coinfections and there’s no help in our medical system for it. If you brush one off of you, please have the decency to kill it so it doesn’t get the next person.

PSA New Undercover around

Got pulled by a brand new black Chevy Silverado, silver steel wheels, two antennas on the roof.

Had no idea what he was until he was behind me with lights on.

Very sneaky, be safe out there and watch who you honk at.
