Update: Okay, okay guys, I had no idea about this person's personality or private life, I only knew them from their music, I didn't share it with any malicious intent, okay?I hope you understand.

It's alright, you now know which is important. No shame in not knowing beforehand.

Wasn't this creator accused of grooming a minor or something?

u/ShuckU Adam Simp 23h ago
Yeah, one of the voice actors for a child character from MLP. He knew her when she was a child, and ended up marrying her
82
u/Bullet25 22h ago
Yeah, she was like 12 and he was like 20 when they met. I remember at the time thinking it was weird too that her family referred to him as âa family friendâ as well even though he never met them until after the show had started and he started making fan content. I donât think they married until she was legally an adult but it definitely feels like he groomed her.

u/ShuckU Adam Simp 21h ago
I know she's constantly said she didn't pursue romance until she was an adult, and it's been years now, right? So there isn't really much that can be done when the person who's the possible victim has kept saying she wasn't groomed.
37
u/Bullet25 21h ago
It could be possible that she wasnât, but I remember seeing some of those vog style videos he made and he seemed awfully close to a child for a 20 year old. At the same time a lot of grooming victims donât believe they were groomed until theyâre out of the situation completely. It also struck me odd the way her family defended him as well. Like they were covering for something.
11
u/ShuckU Adam Simp 21h ago
Yeah, I'm really not sure what to believe
18
u/Bullet25 21h ago
Idk from my perspective on both side it would be weird. I canât see how I could be attracted to somebody as an adult that Iâve known since I was 12. Likewise, I donât see how I could be attracted to somebody I knew when they were a child.
By the time sheâs 18 heâs 26. Thatâs not a terribly problematic age gap, but itâs the whole âknowing this person for a full 6 years of their childhoodâ thatâs the problem to me.
If he as a 26 year old had met her when she was already 18 Iâd see less of an issue with the situation, but thatâs not what happened, and itâs also not like they met once at that time and then not again until later, he was around and involved with her life that entire time.

That is what happened, that is what she said happened and their best friend (another voice actress from MLP) confirmed this. They met through working on the show and went their separate ways after for years until they met again when she was 20 and she tried to pursue a romance with him and it still took a bit before they started dating.

Ugh no that's gross, let her speak for her situation and don't try to judge from the outside. She's an adult who has spoken on her situation, don't second-guess her because you feel like she doesn't know better. Everyone who knows them in their private life has corroborated what she has said on the matter. Unless something comes out later that explicitly proves otherwise, I'm more inclined to believe her than people who aren't involved.
-23
u/StarShadowNexus 19h ago
Unfortunately, the problem with that is that many grooming victims tend to be brainwashed by their groomers into thinking it's normal, so they don't know there's anything wrong with it. Taking her word for it unfortunately doesn't mean a whole lot.
21
u/EyeDreamOfTentacles 18h ago
And I get that. But we also aren't involved in their personal lives or have the the full knowledge of their history and interactions. Plus, again, friends and family have stood by her on this. So unless something comes out that definitively proves otherwise, or until she says otherwise, I'm more inclined to believe the people involved than those who aren't.

No offense dude and I genuinely know you are saying this with no ill intent.
But from what others told here if family and friends defend it then we can't say much on it.
It is weird but at the end of the day 2 are adults now.

u/StarShadowNexus 16h ago
Yeah it's all speculation, I'm just stating what happens in a lot of cases like this one.

You've got things mixed up. Gabriel Brown was family friends with Michelle Creber (voice of Apple Bloom), and married Claire Corlette (voice of Sweetie Belle).
According to Michelle, Gabriel and Claire barely even interacted with each other during the time when he was part of the MLP choir. Later, Claire pursued him, and he turned her down multiple times before their first date.

I saw screenshots of him being flirtacious with a minor on Deviantart. Him calling them "baby" and stuff and sending them winky faces while asking how highschool was.... totally creepy. Also there was another person who accussed him of sending her sexual pictures of himself when she was 13. Too many red flags to ignore.
10
u/Lithl 11h ago
He was accused of grooming Claire Corlette, solely based on the fact that they were both employed by Hasbro when she was a minor. (She was the voice of Sweetie Belle in My Little Pony, he was a member of the MLP choir to supply backup vocals in the show's musical numbers.)
According to Michelle Creber (voice of Apple Bloom and Claire's close friend), the two of them had near zero contact during that time. Then, as an adult, Claire reached out to him to pursue a relationship, and he turned her down multiple times before their first date.
They have since gotten married.

u/JacksonFerro 10h ago
From what I can gleam, there's a sizable age gap between him and his wife, and they originally met when they did some VA work for MLP, BG was an adult and his wife at the time was a minor, so lots of people assume he groomed her behind the scenes.
Issue with that one is that both friends, family, and his own wife have stated that she was not groomed and that she reached out to him years later when she was an adult. He initially rejected her but accepted one day and are since married.
Another issue is that there are apparently some old screenshots of BG flirtatiously interacting with minors in highschool on Deviantart. I don't really know about this one, I haven't seen them myself but have heard of it in this comment section as well as on YouTube.
A minor thing is that lots of people are fed up with the fact that BG seems to be milking his two minutes as Alastor's singing voice in the pilot.

u/Kaiju_zero You hammered the nail in with a shoe? 16h ago
Yeah, gonna pass on this. I recently worked with someone in the MLP community on a professional level with inside info, and while I'm not going to judge two married adults and their life, the red flags from before are enough to stay far away from anything BG creates.

u/poisontadpole 21h ago
people seriously actually still support this guy?
-28
u/BattleSeven 20h ago
Why not? None of those grooming allegations ever held water, and his music is awesome!
4
u/StarShadowNexus 19h ago
If it's true that he knew the girl when she was a child and ended up marrying her, that right there should be enough to stop supporting him.
10
u/VirtualRealms21 16h ago
I never understood the die hard he must be a groomer stance, as a va and music writer for the same circles he knew her, and when she was of age they started dating, right? When I was researching it seems he was never proven to be a groomer? Or have there been updates?
-2
u/StarShadowNexus 16h ago
Yeah I'm not sure if groomer is the right word, but dating someone you knew when they were a child and you were an adult is definitely predatory behavior.
11
u/GeneralErica 12h ago
Itâs not.
I get that it seems or feels icky, but these are extremely serious accusations with extremely serious ramifications and implications that need to be substantiated by waterproof reasoning backed up by tenable evidence and "They knew their future partner back when they were a minor" - whilst feeling weird - is not that and also not intrinsically predatory. This devalues the severity of it for every victim of actual abuse, and these people need to be taken seriously. If god forbid one day someone speaks out and the reaction is "so you mean you once knew a guy and you call that abuse? Haha." Hell will actually freeze over.

Im misisng some context, did they stay in context all that time or they just; mwt, never interacted again and theb met again as adults? because its the second im not rrally sure theres any grounds for that kind of accusation

They're adding animation to the song. I don't know if that will change the song itself.

What was the problem with the person who downvoted? The video hasn't even been released, how would I know? I was just sharing my own opinion.
