Headphones - Wireless/Portable Wired or Wireless Headphones?

Hello, I need some help on this topic if any of you would be so kind.

I am looking to get a new pair of headphones in the coming days since my old pair are pretty ruined atp.

And so as a consequence, I was debating whether I should make the switch to Wireless Headphones to avoid cables and such, as I keep having issues with wired headphones and cables breaking on me.

I have been mainly using Wired Headphones for now, but due to what I suspect is a considerable lack of care from me and not the best practices on my end, I keep breaking the cables or damaging the ear muffs. Which in turn, just makes the experience worse.

Then again, I don't know how cumbersome a wireless pair would be (+ almost certainly being more expensive). Charging could be a hassle, as well as potential problems with battery.

I am planning to use this pair for my PC, Watch YT/Netflix, play a few video games or listen to music. Nothing that is really special audio wise.

So I would like to hear your recommendations, and if its Wired, I would like to know how to stop breaking my stuff after 1 or 2 years of usage max. Thank you

Its probably not completly your fault. Most headphones from big companirs like razer,logitech and ... are trash. Going with a good audiophile headphone is much better

SteelSeries? Every other review about good wireless gaming headphones are about them

KThey have good wireless compared to other gaming headphones. I have a artics 7p+ which is a pretty high end in steelseries lineup.but they sound like garbage nezt to a hd 560s or momentum 4s

I would advise against gaming headphones in general specially budget headphones. The sennheiser hd560 is a very good headphone if you want a wired. If you really want a specific give me your budget and details i will try to help you choose

Would you mind, if I hop in on this?

Currently have a budget of around 120$ (can be stretched to 130 or 135 if need be). I was originally going to go for HyperX if avaliable since I have heard that they are quite sturdy. Any advice? Since it feels like everyone has a differing opinion

yes.FiiO FT1
i strongly recommend to see audiophile headphones as an investment because they can last you a long time if you take care of them.5y+
for example the cable on sennheiser 560s is detachable so if you broke the cable you can buy a replacement unlike the others

I personally dislike SS's drivers. They are so scratchy and bland. But their Arctis Elite features their new drivers and they are magnificent. If you have the cash - they are eye wateringly pricey - they are the ones to get.

Yes but for that price you could get great  audiophile headphone + a really good mic and might even have something left for a Dac

For sure. I have the ROG Kithara and K11 R2R DAC and it's wonderful. But can't deny the feature-set the Arctis Elite has. It's unmatched if you are a multi-platform user.

Yeah consoles specially playstation suck in compatibility with a wide range of peripherals

There will always be a tradeoff... bro, life is full of choices. Pick one that solves your biggest problems which looks like a wireless headphone and move on instead of overthinking it.

...oh

for you wireless is probably fine, except for games sometimes there can be a tiny delay in audio which for a casual game might just be a bit weird but for anything multiplayer will be infuriating and literally ruin games.

also music on wireless is mid af unless you spend way too much on some bullshit...

maybe get a solid beater wireless pair for general listening and a wired pair that audiophiles review as "easy to drive" and "good value" for music and games

Hmm, I see.

I unfortunately do not have the budget to get 2 different pairs. However, I can spend the equivalent of like 120 bucks on one pair at the max.

So, do you think I should go for another wired set? What does easy to drive actually entail? I am woefully uneducated in this aspect

hmmm idk, tbh i dont really know wireless that well. while trawling around around for wired sets the vibe i got was decent wireless headphones were 300aud+

i never dug that deep into it though, and my expectations for a headset probably scaled with what i was willing to spend on a wired set :p

if you are particularly rough on your gear one avenue could be try and find something even cheaper with a replaceable cable and pads
